PING G425 9 Iron Rattle/Noise

Very odd that my 9 iron has just started to make an odd noise. If you tap the graphite shaft end/grip on a hard surface instead of a solid thump you get a vibrating sound (hard to describe). I've raised it with the store where it was purchased from but hit a brick wall. None of the remaining clubs do it. Any suggestions.

Did they check to see if the head is loose?

If you shake it does it rattle? That could just be a piece of epoxy or something.

If you have to hit it on something to make the sound I’d be concerned the shaft is splintering somewhere.

I'd contact PING, they have a really good customer service (I'm talking Gainsborough in the UK, but I'd wager that the US would be the same.) A few years ago I had a G30 Driver that had a rattle in the hosel it was about 2 years old yet PING sorted it out for me no issues - just had to contact them and did it through a PING authorised pro shop. Cost me nothing!

Pop the grip off. Turn the club upside down. Let the dried adhesive bit fall out. Replace the grip.

My bet is this. If not, Ping has great customer service in the US.
