Mr Daly is playing In Germany in the BMW Open- something to look forward to in a week that has borne bad news for golf. Im sure John will enjoy Deutchlands hospitality to the full with lager and sausage.

I hope that Daly can pull it together. Sure he's a trainwreck, but that's why I like him. He represents the 'everyman'

Personally, I'd rather have a Rocco Mediate representing me.

'everyman' ??

He sure doesn't represent me. I find him repulsive and currently bad for the game of golf.

I really wish Daly would get his game under control. His life is his own business, he just needs more control when he steps on a course. Sucks that his deal with Butch Harmon fell apart. If Butch could have really helped him make his swing more controllable, Daly would be a real contender.

Realize that Daly is not just known for his long drives, but his soft touch in the short game. That's why he won the British Open and PGA Championship, his short game. His distance is an asset and a curse.

I think it would be awesome to see him get his game together and challenge Phil, Ernie, Sergio, etc. He has the talent, he just has gotten lost from the game. Would make for some fun golf television!

Umb yeah....if he represents the "everyman", then America is in even worse shape than I thought. The guy's a mess. He's either got troubles upstairs, or he just doesn't give a f. I have zero sympathy for the guy, either. Tons of talent, millions of dollars, pi$$ed away for the most part.

But, I'd like to see him make a run at contending again. He used to be fun to watch. I doubt we'll ever see that happen again though.

The dude has given up. Saw a highlight of the latest tourney he played in and he looked like he was ready to explode (physically). How much longer can a guy keep packing on the pounds and still play. Frankly, it's amazing he can still swing.

Have we see the last of John Daly? I believe he lost his Tour Exemption, will he crash and burn?

I wish he would get halfway straightened out and go through Q school and get his card back and start playing the Tour again.

I miss him. I think golf in general misses the guy. Just imagine the crowd response if he could somehow pull it off. We sure could use him right now.

Didn't realize he was actually in the field next weekend for the Buick.

I'm really looking forward to seeing him play. I hope he's been preparing and takes it seriously.

Looking forward to another missed cut, will enjoy his two rounds though. JD has to lose some pounds (like how bout 40, just for starters), no idea how he plays swinging around that house he calls a stomach.. . . All this from a JD fan, check the avatar.

I hope John makes it back to the big show.....and Duval as well.

I would love to see those two to make a comeback! John is full of "flashes of brillance" and duval was the most complete player in the 90's. God knows that we need the tv ratings they bring after tiger being put on the shelf.

For real, JD would at least fill some of Tiger's void during his absence. Don't get me wrong, I am going to be watching no matter what, but it's to watch a guy like Daly. Much more exciting than ole Justin Leonard or someone like that. I like that risky, "balls out" style he plays with (even though it often hurts him more than it helps him).

My wife and I will be there Friday. He tees off early, but I'm sure I'll see him play a few holes. It all depends on how quickly I can get my wife out of the house...always difficult.

If I see anything interesting, I'll report back. I would predict that he will make the cut, even though I just bashed him earlier in this thread. I will also predict that Justin Leonard will win this week.

His health is not going to last long. If he would quite smoking and loose some weight, I bet he would be able to get more practice and be a competitor again.
