I'm sorry if this is a repeat thread, but searching yielded no result.

What does a round cost you, and for what kind of course?

We have two local public courses here. The both follow the same basic pricing. They're not really nice courses or anything, but they get the job done.

Weekdays - $8 to walk 9 and $24 to ride for 18

Weekends - $20 to ride for 9 and $30 to ride for 18

I get to play the best course in town for $12, or $6 for nine. I was in a junior program when the course opened about seven years ago so I get $10 every round until I'm 19 (next year).

My home course is quite good. I never would have joined as a member, except they just opened to the public during certain times of the week (semi-private club now). After playing the course a couple of times, I realized it was a steal to join, especially with my military discount. The public green fees are $32 for a round during the on season and $24 during the off season (nov-march).

Other courses in the area are comprable, though I haven't played many of them, since I'm already paying to play mine. :)

I'm curious to know how many times can you guys afford to play per week? My boss is making $100 K and he told me he could only play like once a week. Personally, I can't afford to play on the course at all. . I can only hit balls at the range

Anyway, here is the rate of the course where I live a couple of blocks away

I am a single guy, I am an E-5 so I don't make that much, but I can afford to play quite a bit... Everybody's got different priorities... When I'm not playing golf I am doing motorcycle trackdays which run between $160-200 for the day. I realize there are LOTS of golf courses what charge that much for green fees for a single round.... I sure can't pay that much for a few hours of walking.

There is alot of courses to choose here in Cali, I can play rounds from $27 to $60 normally, depending on course and day, but I have to use those discount websites and plan a little. If I just decide to play and go to the course, weekdays are around $40-$50 weekends $60-70 for full 18 and for 9 which I do sometimes I can pay about $20 for walking. I normally play once a week at least 9 at least, but 18 at least twice a month.

$250/mo dues at my club. Includes $30/mo food allowance and cart storage for my private cart. Not a bad deal for a pretty good course.
