From a rivalry perspective, I'm sure Beantowners would love nothing more than to chant, "BEAT LA."

I'd really like a Pistons-Lakers final only because I think the teams match up, better. I think Boston has a really good team but Maxiell/McDyess are better than Perkins/PJ Brown and Billups is significantly better than Rondo.

I want to see a great NBA Finals. The last one I saw was when the Spurs beat the Pistons in seven games. Tie game, game 7, less than a minute to go, Spurs win. As a basketball fan, it does not get any better.

Plus, I root for the Knicks. I'll take any basketball over Knicks basketball.

being 36 and still able to remember when it was a Magic vs. Bird finals and how their rivarly against each other was great (even though they only played twice a year) I think from that standpoint that a Celts vs. Lakers finals would be nice, but the rivarly isn't there anymore so weather it's them 2 facing each other or another team it really makes no difference to me.

In fact I wouldn't count the Spurs out just yet, and for that matter the Pistons.....still alot of BB to go.

For me the last finals that meant anything was when it was the Rockets vs. Knicks....not only because I'm a Knicks fan but it was also the OJ highway chase that they broke into during the game......

I voted yes, as Undr Par stated the rivalary is not there anymore, but it would be nice to see these teams go at it, you know there would be an awful lot of references to the Bird-Magic era. I would love to see KG and the boys take it to the Lakers. However there are a few games left to play, Detriot is usually pretty good this time of year, and the Spurs have an uphill battle.

I voted that I don't care, only because it's a different generation now and the two teams don't have the rivalry like twenty years ago. I felt the same way (although I cared then) when the Steelers played the Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX. New players, different eras, same cities. While the stakes are the same, it just wouldn't have the same aura to me.

That chase was much more riveting than say...John Starks' 2 for 18.

I want a Laker's vs Celtics finals because I am sick of the Pistons and the Spurs. They both play boring basketball, and I can't stand any of the spurs other the Tim Duncan. Bruce Bowen is dirty, and Manu just gets on my nerves. I would love to see the matchups of the two big threes (Kobe, Odom, and Gasol vs Pierce, Allen, and Garnett). It would be a very interesting finals.

Absolutely. I'm a Celtics fan so that part of it is obvious but the NBA could really benefit from a Celtics/Lakers finals and I sort of think the league needs it.

Personally I would prefer Pistons and Spurs, both play fundamental basketball, not the "show" type teams. But I guess the league needs more "show" than fundamental basketball.

A Pistons/Spurs Finals isn't that unlikely, but it would be the most boring NBA Finals since the last time they met (2005 Finals I believe). Those two teams bore me to death, especially when playing each other.

I've been a huge KG fan since he was a rookie in the NBA, and I've followed him through a lot of ups and downs in Minnesota. I never really cared for Boston, but now that KG is on the team, I've followed them pretty closely. I would obviously like to see KG win a title, and who they play isn't important to me. It would be nice to see the Lakers/Celtics though for sentimental reasons I suppose.

I'd love to see this match up. I agree the match up isn't going to be what it was 20 yrs. ago (what could be really?) but being from Boston it sure would be fun to chant BEAT LA again!!

Please Jesus, don't let the Celtics win the Championship! I'm not a basketball fan per se, but I'm SOOO tired of hearing my friends in Boston be such poor winners with the Sox and Pats, that I couldn't stand it if the Celts or Bruins won anything. I didn't even gloat back at them when the Pats choked the SB. I was just glad I didn't have to hear about it if they had won. New Englanders were starved for so long, they don't know how to handle success, so they act like children. (Coincidentally, I fear the same thing happening here in Atlanta, should one of our meager franchises figure out how to win anything!)
