That sounds a lot like the "Square Driver" rule that I use: I get to kick the ball out the rough about 20 yards further down the fairway based on the assumption that, had I used one of these new drivers, I would never have veered from the straight and narrow.

If you want spin get a Srixon Soft Feel, Bridgestone B330-S, or Callaway HX Tour 56...they aren't AS expensive as Pro v1's and they'll still bite.

So, when you hit you top-flite down the middle do you go drop it in the lake because if it had been a pro-v you would have been nervous about losing it and sliced it into the lake.

Or, as again I'll say, the Maxfli Black Max. It doesn't have that much spin off the driver, but off of irons and wedges, they spin a ton.

I love the pro v-1 rule! So can I apply it to previous rounds? Yesterday I played some crappy ball that I found and I shot a 95. So If I retrace my shots and apply the rule ........

Hell, I used it yesterday.
I declared an opponent's ball out-of-bounds.
Had he been hitting a Pro V-1, it would have gone that far.

thanks, am always looking for a new rule to lower my score plus these rules are great equalizers for those who can't afford the expensive technology

stupid rule? are you kidding me? my handicap is about to go from a 10 to a 5 and from all the many positive comments i've been receiving, i can tell this is going to improve alot of people's game. one guy even had 3 hole-in-ones with this rule. and going through the many swing tips and advice given throughout the golf world and this forum, i bet this is probably the best tip ever posted to lower one's golf scores

Yes indeed! with the Pro-V rule, and the Tiger Rule, and the Scotty Cameron rule, my handicap has dropped down to -1. I'm thinking on becoming a PRO, what do you guys think? WOuld I do good enough?

As a +1? No. +4 barely keeps your PGA Tour card.
