2 iron? I doubt he was playing a 2 iron from 208 yards downwind.

2? Sorry, a little dyslexic. It's like an upside down and backwards 5, right? ;)

Tiger's 18th was epic. Finally hit the fairway after 5 tee shots into the rough, nails the green, and makes a HUGE downhill putt for another eagle on the last. He really is like a human highlight reel like they say. So many bad shots, but he just rolls them in like it's easy to make everyone forget about the inaccuracy off the tee. I still like Rocco, I was sad to see his blow-up hole after so many consecutive pars, and man, what a great attitude. He has just the right attitude to be playing in San Diego. He just looks like he's having the time of his life and barely seemed to be feeling any pressure at all all day.

Watch The Golf Channel starting right now. You'll probably see it 50 times.

Haha, I just caught it a few minutes ago. I guess that'll teach me to not walk away from the TV screen, especially since I was only away for 20 minutes.

Two eagles in the final six holes, both dead center of the cup, and Tiger Woods leads going into the final round.

Sure does look that way to me. Only question is that knee. He's gotten it done so far, but it looked really bad when he hit his second shot on 18. His reaction made

my knee hurt.

Yeah, he said afterwards it was 5. I thought it may be a 6 iron but with the knee as it is probably wanted to swing easier at it...

I can't believe TW is in the lead though. I really can't. I have to admit I was rooting for Rocco Mediate, but I would rather see Woods win than Westwood. For some reason, I really can't stand that guy.

TW may be able to hold the lead, maybe not. Lets just hope he gets on a lot of pain killers and ice. :)

I really don't know what too say, the two back nines the last two days have been unbelievable. I was out at dinner and recieved 15 text message and 6 voicemails. Most of them from people who don't even watch golf. Talk amongst my friends are comparing Tigers performance to that of Michael Jordan battling the flu against the Jazz, I didn't say it but it was a very good conversation.

I just got back and man it was amazing. I was in the 9th hole grandstand for most of the day and it was really fun. No could make a one putt today on that hole and the crowd where I was knew that each player was goingto miss everytime. Tough green to read. It was great seeing my two favorite players, Camilo and Ogilvy play in person. Hopefully one of the two can pull out the win and beat the Evil Tiger. A great expierence.

Not speaking of Tiger for the moment, I really wish that I could watch Rocco win this tournament but not have to beat Tiger. Rocco's just been a blast to watch and as someone said earlier, his attitude on the course is just great. Its just he'd have to beat Tiger to win, and I can't turn on Tiger.

Don't be surprised if Woods doesn't win, he was 1 under on his round today, and that included that 2 eagle, 1 birdie back nine surge . . . if the magic doesn't fall for him tomorrow he may come up short with that bum leg, but when has the magic ever failed him once he is leading? Should be great drama, but I'll be playing golf.

Tiger reminds me of a conversation I had with my basketball coach, years ago. A few of my teammates and I asked him if he thought Michael Jordan was just lucky. He responded with "It may look like luck but he's probably practiced those shots, a million times. Sometimes, you make your luck."

That's the brilliance of his shot making. When I think he has zero chance, he makes an incredible shot. That chip reminded me of him blasting out of the sand at Doral, last year and holing it. I'm not surprised by anything he does because it's either something he's done before or come close to replicating.

Knee surgery and winning? Check. It will be interesting to see him do it, twice.

I just found this gem in the

Live Notes :
GOING FAST: Anthony Kim and Ryuji Imada, the first group of the day, raced through Torrey Pines South like they had an afternoon plane to catch. The two players, each shooting 2-under 70s [sic], completed their rounds in 3 hours, 15 minutes. That's 48 minutes ahead of pace. "I actually wouldn't mind playing faster than that," said Kim, now at 6 over for the tournament. "It was just a normal round. I've played in an hour and 50 minutes out here on TOUR by myself." Added Imada, who's also at 6 over: "The last two days, it probably took us five hours and 30 minutes (playing threesomes). It's a grind out there. It's a long day when it takes that long. But today was a great day." Incidentally, both players notched their first PGA TOUR wins earlier this year (Kim at Wachovia, Imada at the AT&T; Classic). -- Mike McAllister (7:18 p.m.)

I wasn't expecting to see a fast play note in a major, much less a "we shot under par in a U.S. Open setup in well under four hours." And it couldn't have happened to better (for me) folks - my fandom for these two is well-known. I don't know if Kim or Imada are fast-play advocates (like, say, the wife of Rory Sabbatini), but this sure can make a compelling case for those urging the tour folks to play faster. Note: They both shot 1-under 70s, not 2-under 70s. Hence the [sic].

I am probably one of the few who doesn't worship the ground Tiger walks on, but even I have to admit that was one of the greatest performances I have ever witnessed, not only in golf, but in all of sports. There is just something spiritual about what he does, it's almost kind of spooky. He was just put on this earth to win golf tournaments, I suppose, incredible! Anyone who thinks that he won't close the deal today is in denial.

I really would like to see Rocco come up big today, although the odds are probably against him. He seems to be the one who as arguably had the best tee to green play of anyone this week, knowing that Westwood is the only one to be par or better each of the first three rounds. I just can't see anyone beating Tiger -- his to lose.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
