Where can i get my irons/wedges lengthened?

I need all of my irons and wedges lengthened as well as the grips replaced.

I'm going to lengthen them .75 of an inch which means i'll have to adjust the lie angle 1.5º upright. I also want to get some Golf Pride Tour Velvets with 3 wraps.

Where can i get this done and how much do you think it will run me?

You can do it yourself by buying plugs and then regripping...but the lie angle adjustment requires more equipment.
At a shop, it will probably be about $150 for your set, considering you will need all new grips too. If you also need to adjust the lie angle, add about $50. Basically, adjusting clubs at a shop can run into the $250 range and at that point, you might want to think about getting new clubs.

Any local golf smith should be able to accomplish what you are wanting. Phone book or google would be a good start. Once you find a good smith, keep them. This is a practice that is getting harder and harder to find a good trust worthy person.

For what it'd cost you for labor, materials and loss of strength by using a plug extension, I'd consider to re-shaft the head, and start over from new.

You'll be buying a new grip anyhow, so that's a wash.

Dynamic Gold shafts are $12-15 and even the high zoot Rifle shafts are ~$30 each. Grips are ~$5-10 each, then you need to labor all of the above installation (I don't know what the labor cost might be)

The type of iron, can determine the shaft selection as well. There are a lot of straight hosels, and many of the high end OEM's use tapered shafts (which can potentially add some complication and expense).

Take it to your local professional clubmaker for more info and ideas.

Any Golfsmith could do it. Lengthening is $7.99 a club plus the cost of the grip. Sometimes you will have to pay for the extensions as well (we never charge at the one that I work at, but it could be different by you). Changing lie angle is also typically $4.99 a club, but there is a "Clubvantage" program that costs $50 to start, and you get 50% off labor costs for two years. You also get labor costs for regripping included (for the first 28 clubs) so at least for a little bit you only pay the cost of the grip instead of the typical $3 a club labor plus the cost of the grip.

If you wanted to go the reshafting route (more expensive), I believe those CG1's are taper tipped (been a few months since I worked on one) which limits your shaft options a little. Labor on reshafting is normally $18.99 a club though, so for something like a full set of reshafts with Project X shafts would cost you in the neighborhood of $350 plus tax and grips (using the Clubvantage, more expensive without it). Even a cheaper shaft like the TT Lite XL or Dynamic Gold is going to get up above $200 pretty quick.

I also agree on the person that said find someone you like and stick with them. I'm not the main club builder where I work, I just kind of get thrown back in the shop as a fill in kind of thing, but I've had people request that I be the one that works on their clubs.

Go to your local pro and ask what is the best. Usually there is a local pro shop that can do it.

I never liked Golfsmith (not trying to bad mouth it) but I have seen some poor work come from there (then again this could just be my local one)

*EDIT - I just saw that you are from Westchester (about a 30 min drive from me). I would check out the course Centennial and see if there shop can do it, it is your call but I know some people there who are respectable. GL

If you feel like tinkering you can do this yourself and there are a couple of options
1) strip the grips put in plugs then cut the plugs to length, regrip and then take to galaxy or Smith and have the lofts and lies adjusted for like $5 a club.

2) remove the grips, pull all of the shafts, spine them, if you have them all apart it's easy, then install the 8 iron shaft in the PW and so forth. Buy new matching shafts for the long irons.

You can do all of this in about 2 hours. You can get a spine finder on ebay for about $30.
