I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on 105 of these for $12...

How long does one tee usually last?
Does it ding up your driver, being plastic and all?
Do you really feel a difference?

Ali vs Frazier...who wins? Either way, both sides take a punch, eh?

That's what I was wondering. I know my driver isn't going to take significant damage, but I've never used a plastic tee and don't know what they do.

At most, the plastic part may scrape against the bottom of the driver, but basically the face should only be hitting the little rubbery part at the top anyways.

Eh?: You've used an illegal term

This has actually been discussed a couple times on this forum and there is also a

review on the main site. That being said, here is my response to your questions: 1) They last a long, long time. I've heard people say they have broken them, but I never have personally. I bought 50 last year and I still have all except some I've given away. 2)No, not at all. 3)See the review I linked above.

I found three on our course and have used them a few times. So far they have not broken.
The only thing I have noticed is that they do leave a slight on the bottom of the driver. However, a little water and a towel removed it.

I do not think that there was any great performance gain.

I play with them, not because I think I get a performance gain out of them, but because they last forever. I got a 50 pack for Father's Day 2007, and I probably still have 35-40 of them. They don't mark up my driver.

I second point 1 and 2.

I've never broken one. Even my friend who's known as the tee breaker couldn't break one either.

for me they last about 9 holes maybe before the ball has a hard time staying on the tee.. the little tits get rubbed down and start to let the ball fall off...
the ones I have are super thin and barely touch the ball... I have seen other ones that are huge and bulky. compared to the brush tees I like them cause they are less bulky in my pockets. the brush tees fee too big when I walk...

The only ones I've ever used I've found abandoned on the tee box. I've broken them, I find broken ones on tee boxes regularly, and I hate the way they bend when I try to tee up a ball. I mostly just leave them now when I find one. I prefer ordinary wood tees, and I find more than I ever break. I haven't bought a tee of any kind in more than 15 years, and I still must have more than 2000 in the spare bag in my garage, plus more than 100 in my carry bag. I almost always come home with more than I started out with.

I have had the same experience with the ball falling off. The only ones I have tried are the ones you describe. I will never use one of the brush tees or anything to crazy looking, too much of a traditionalist.

They are worth the money though to give a try. You will want to keep wooden tees in the bag though because they can be a hassle on hard tee boxes.

These tees definitely break. They are extremely durable compared to wood, but they break all the time. The typical cause is when they are buried too deep, or when you are playing in cold weather (or both). We have hard soil where I play, so that probably plays a big role too. Personally, I hate the three prongs on the top and wish they worked more like a normal tee.

I have always wanted a normal-looking tee that was made from plastic instead of wood. I find them on the course occasionally, but I have no idea where to buy them. I suspect they might be a kids' golf accessory.

i have used these tees for about 2 years now and i do not see any difference in preformance but these tees last for ever. an average no friction tee lasts me about 2 rounds if idont loose it ofcourse. These tees also do not daage your club at worst there might be a little line of white plastic on the sole of your club but that can easily be wiped away with a wet towel.

I'm surprised at the posters who break these as much as wooden tees. I've never broken one of these things.

The only additional insight I can add is that the tee itseld will fly further at impact than a wooden tee. Sometimes 10 yards away, but you get used to where your swing takes the tee.

I bought a 50 pack of ZFs last year and really didn't like them. As people have said, they never break, but through my experience I found them very flimsy, which made it really hard to tee up in hard ground. Also, because they were flimsy they bent very easily when I hit my driver.

I ordered some Epoch tees, and they just arrived the other day. I played my first round with them today and I think they are much better than the ZFs. They are sturdy like wooden tees, and I played the whole round without braking one. I highly reccomend them.
