How good is your dad?

my dad is 62 years old he has been playing golf for 4 years and he is almost breaking 100,a nd he only plays a few times a year? How does this compare with your expirences.

My dad still hasn't broken 100, we started playing at the same time.

He plays off 10 - his lowest was 9.7 and his ambition is to get to single figures, if even for only ONE round. He's 9.9 at the moment (been out to 12 since he was 9.7) but he doesn't play a whole lot. He works damn hard monday to friday, rarely gets out midweek and never practices. I'd like to see him get down to 9 - he'd be well able if he played a bit more.

Best round is a 79. My mums best is 78!

My Dad has been playing the same time as me, and he plays off an 11 handicap.

Oddly enough, my dad does not even play and I am the only one in the family that actually plays. I am trying to get my brother to play some and he want so.

My dads played for many years, but has never put in the effort that it would take to get his game to the next level. He usually shoots in the mid to low 90's, but has broken 90 many times also, usually while playing against me.

my dad was a ball-beater for years. he didn't really take any lessons for his 1st 3 years. then he decided to when I was 16 so 11 years ago. he consistently shoots in the mid 80's and gets pissed b/c he taught me the rules and how to play a little over a year ago, and I come and beat him... BUT he spanks me every now and again... he's basically a straight shooter...
but at 69 and he's still driving it about 230/240, I think that's pretty damn good for him

My dad is 25 years older than I am and hands me my ass almost everytime we play. Every year we play a series of rounds and the winner is awarded a trophy that we got online.

It's a lot of fun. If my game doesn't turn around in a hurry, it won't even be a competition this year.

My dad was a scratch golfer when I was growing up. It took me a few years to finally beat him. The day I beat him, he gave me a minature trophey that meant a lot to me. He passed away a few years ago, but I still have that trophey.

He shoots low 90's, but can pull of shots like a scratch golfer...

My dad shoots mid 80's to low 90's. Not bad for him hes been playing a few years just hacking the ball. He's 36 and I'm 17 and I've kept up with him on off days in his higher 90's.

My dad is 56, he used to be really good in his 20's, (would regularly shoot in the 70's) When i was around 13 or 14 he used to shoot in the 80's all the time and kick my ass, Now I beat him almost every time we play, he gets low 90's.

My pops shoots in the low 100's w/ an occassional sub-100 round here and there. He's 57 and doesn't get a lot of distance but lately he's been deadly accurate irons (he just got a new set of Big Bertha's)

The great part about this game is being able to share it with him...we talk about golf more than anything.

Now, I just need to work on the 2 stroke differential between us so I can take him down for once!
