Asian dominance on the PGA and LPGA Tours

Let's hear it for Asians on both tours! Granted, Asians don't have quite the stranglehold on the PGA as they do on the LPGA. Still, with an Asian (Tiger Woods) as the world's best golfer and Anthony Kim charging up the ranks, it won't be long until Asians dominate the PGA as they have already done on the LPGA.

Go Tiger and Anthony (and all the Parks, Kims, etc. on the LPGA)!

Worst thing to happen to LPGA in my opinion for American fans. Half of the time you cant even pronounce their names!! LOL It will lose a lot of following if Asians take over.

I am not knocking your heritage, but I doubt young girl golfers will look up to someone that can't speak english.

I agree that this is bad news for American fans, but its GREAT news for fans in those Asian countries (all who have trouble pronouncing American names!).

I believe this is why Bivens is planning to move the LPGA overseas to asian countries (where all the money, sponsors, and fans are). The LPGA will host its first tournament in China next year, with many more to come.

I don't take offense to my heritage. Like I said, the American girls won't have to look up to all the Kims and Parks in golf. There are plenty of other sports out there from which they can pick their idols.

y's it bad news? Nelson Mandella's idolized here and he's not even making moves on this continent. Yao Ming, Manny Pacquiao, Dice K, C.M. Wong, Hideki Matsui, Iichiro, Dikembe Mutumbo, Drazen Petrovic, Ivanesavich, Boris Becker, Nadal, Federer.....

I think we can go on and on for that list... are you telling me that people don't look up to folks that were mentioned in that list? you're telling me people don't know, hear, see and want to throw a fastball like Dice K, swing a bat like iichiro, block a shot like dikembe....

wouldn't that be just DUMB to say that it would hurt the sport? That's beyond a patriotic thought to say that it hurts the american perspective by seeing a boom from Asians or folks outside of our "norm."
That's just as worse as when those kids at the country club said "oh great we're playing with Bruce Lee."
It's worse b/c it's the thought that outside countries shouldn't rise to the occasion/challenge and achieve greatness in a sport or sports that have global dominance and reach.
There's nothing wrong with cheering for your country. I'm a patriotic guy... I'm a Filipino-American that's proud to be born & raised in this country..but cultured enough to accept, try, and give respect & props to others that do it.

IF it hurts to hear when other cultures outside of "our own" are doing it big.. then why do I speak in front of thousands at conferences for kids growing up that want to learn about DJ'ing and music. Why do I stay busy 50 weeks a year boooked from VT to the Florida Keys, out west from Seattle to the tip of Cali? Why do companies like Boost Mobile, Burburry, Footlocker, Adidas & God Forbid a major like Donna Karen & Ralph Lauren utilize my services? Why does BUDWEISER the great American beer contact me for events?
That's real big to say it would hurt the American perspective on the sport to see other cultures winning.
You might have just as well said "the Caucasian" should be the only one winning on tour.

Too uncultured to even try to understand another perspective? Too bone-headed to try to learn how to pronounce a foreign name correctly?

It's stupidity and arrogant pride from a comment like that which makes other countries hate us. You probably don't care & never will. So for that, I tip my cap to you and I HOPE that Tiger never wins again... b/c God forbid an Asian or anyone outside the common norm of your American thought wins again.
