What a great story this would be. Tiger who? Haha. Someone mentioned in a different thread how good he looked in the practice rounds and if there's one tournament Norman can compete in these days it would be this one. I don't think he can win but it's nice to see him playing well and a top 25 isn't out of the question.

Amazing. Norman did play in a Seniors major recently and was in contention, so he still has game, even though he never plays or practices and has had major surgery . . . it's hard to believe that he is outplaying most of the best players in the world. Just goes to show the game is mostly in the mind.

Keep in mind this is the first round. Seems to always be an example of one of greats from the past being in contention at some point in a major only to fall off.

Ya but its always cool to see them post up the scores. They are only a quarter of the way done

Agree with you 100%. I met Norman a couple of years ago when I was working for his apparel company. Most focused dude I've ever met.

Totally agree. And it's not like Norman has ever started out well and had a bad weekend

But I would love to see him finish well.

It's great to see Greg Norman mixing it up with the boys.
He's still got game for a guy that keeps the schedule he does.
Stamina will be the test over the next 3 rounds...

Looks like this might be a great week to be an Aussie. Along with Norman, Scott and Allenby are looking in great form. I would love to see the Shark pull off the improbable which would thus allow him to play at Augusta again. Stranger things have happened (i.e. Ben Curtis 2003).

I'm definitely glad Norman played well, but why was there a seperate thread made when this could have been discussed in the British Open thread already made?

    • Day 154 - Played 18 with some buddies. Started off pretty terrible, but put together some good holes.
    • When it comes to set up routine in regards to alignment, I generally prefer my students to: 1) clubface, 2) chest and 3) feet. When the foot alignment happens before chest alignment, we tend to have issues.  I use this example often. I did an introductory flight for flight school, as a student gave me a certificate for it. As most new flyers are, I was staring at the instruments trying to be perfect. I was doing a 30 degree turn and didn’t realize the nose dropped. It had felt normal. The instructor said I had to learn what flat/level is in the air. Kind of a funny thing to say. He said to look at the horizon and nose and recognize their relationship, in order to determine level.  In golf, we see straight from behind the ball. But, when we set up to the ball, we lose what “straight” is. Have someone hold an alignment stick across your chest when you are in full set up and recognize where your lead shoulder is pointing in relation to your target.
    • Day 86. Some technique work followed by short game practice. Need to learn to flight the wedges down more.
    • Day 38 (8 Jun 24) - nephew’s HS graduation celebration about 2hrs from home  - took most of the day so did some mirror work this evening after getting fro the event.
