Golf pants that look like jeans!

Hey everyone. I was watching The Turn on The Golf Channel and they showed golf pants that had jean stitching on them. They looked sweet. I think Justin Rose was wearing them. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew about them or who makes them. Thanks!

New golf digest has a blurb from the stlye guru on those, so check it out. Personally I think they look horrible. Jeans aren't allowed on the course because they look god awful, and anyone who wants to tell me they have dress jeans for the club can wear them all they want, just not on the golf course. There are plenty of good looking clothes for golf already, buy stuff that fits and isn't too bright and you're fine.

I unno bout these they sound sketchy to be honest... how good can they look really? It's gotta take some class away from golf none the less i think. I love jeans, outside of golf though. How comfortable can they be to i can't stand to not wear my golf pants, or shorts when it comes to playing otherwise i don't feel comfortable.

Justin, Where do you get your faux jeans? Jason Morse JR: I have them made by a tailor in Canada called Jack Victor and his son, Alan. I don't know where they are located in Canada and I have never met them. All I know is they do a good job. I get Adidas, who supply me with my golf clothes, to send the colours I am going to wear to Canada and then the Victors make trousers for me using a pair of jeans and a pair of trousers as examples. They put stripes in my trousers that match my shirts. Its discreet and I think it's cool.

What is it about golfers in the Midwest USA and jeans? I was in Nebraska for 1 year and noticed 95% of the golfers wearing jeans while playing. Is it a "farmer" thing? Is it a "low class" thing? I just don't get it. If you're going to wear jeans while playing golf, why not just put a pitchfork in your bag as well? I even saw 1 golfer wear overalls while playing!!!! Unbelievable.... It's like fat women with belly piercings, which you can never see all the time because they're hidden within the folds of fat. I just don't get it....

Not enough pretentious a-holes telling them how to dress on the course I guess. I dont wear jeans to play, but why look down on those that do? Also, did you really just equate farmer with low class? Really?

Wow Roger. Way to just be extremely stereo typical. Yea there are a lot of low budget courses with extremely lax dress codes, but also people out there obviously aren't that good so they just want to have some fun. They also shoot around 64 on 9 so I assume their mindset is, "Why dress up for that?"

Any of the regular city courses and of course the country clubs, like I belong too, no one would ever think of wearing jeans and sometimes shorts. My idea of the thread was more of a fashion inquiry about these faux jeans (which are still dress slacks that cost over $150) than a move to a denim revolution.

First, to address Andy-mac: Since when did I equate farmers to being "low class". I never mentioned anything about "low class" in my post. The comment about farmers was simply my asking if farmers felt more comfortable playing golf in jeans (which amazes me since I personally find jeans tight, inflexible, and restricting for my golf swing).

For Minnesota golfer: I was commenting on the golfers that I saw in Nebraska while playing PRIVATE COUNTRY CLUBS (of which I always belong to wherever I live). You assumed I was referring to attire on PUBLIC COURSES. As you just said yourself, no one in your country club would think about wearing jeans on the course. Did you assume that you were the only poster on this board that was a member of a private country club? Perhaps you are stereotyping people in assuming that those golfers in Nebraska aren't members of private country clubs.

You 2 posters need to lighten up and get over yourselves. Quit making assumptions. When in doubt, just ask and people will be happy to enlighten you as to what they meant by their posts.

1) Cost doesn't matter, yea there are $350 footjoys, but the regular dryjoys are their best offering.
2) If they look like jeans, who cares what they are, they look like jeans.

Personally I feel like some bright colors on the course (tiger red), occassional lime green polo, even orange, are fine. Jean like pants aren't. There are so many trashing offerings from companies charging huge premiums (cough cough J. lindberg). I think fashion in golf went way down in the early 90's with golfers wearing clothes that don't fit, and is slowly coming back, but there's some FUGLY clothes out there. Dri-fit is great for comfort, but other than that technology in clothes (not including shoes), doesn't mean much. Payne Stewart is regarded as one of the best dressed golfers of all time because he wore classic clothes, Camillo is not well dressed.

Sorry for the bit of a rant.

I respect your opinion willie. I do think that Camillo is a little ridiculous. Ian Poulter is also a little eccentric. A lot of the younger golfers these days have bright colors and what I think are outfits that you wouldn't be caught dead in public with. But we also have to respect what people wear.

Nothern Wisconsin is very cold for at least half of the golfing season.
In the hot summer months jeans hinder your golf swing, but in early spring and mid to late fall I would rather wear jeans than long underwear under my slacks.
Remember, "blue collar" people (like me) are a huge demographic to the golf industry, and alot of us wear jeans 80 percent of the time. (try welding in nylon slacks)

Rose always looks good on the course, I like the jeans, but not jeans.
