V1 spins more all around, which leads to better spin around the greens, but also means more spin off the driver making your draws/fades, well....hooks/slices. You also lose some distance with the V1.

The V1x goes farther off the driver w/ less spin. This also means a little less spin around the greens.

^ Well said. The only thing Id add to that is that the V1 is a little bit softer than the V1x, so its stops a little quicker on the greens.
Also, the V1 has a higher shot trajectory than the V1x.

That part's true.

Also, the V1 has a higher shot trajectory than the V1x.

That part's backwards.

The softer, spinnier ball almost always has a lower launch angle. It might reach or could even reach the same overall height (due to the extra spin), but in general it's also a bit lower. And by "lower" we're only talking about a degree.

Pro V1 = softer around greens and lands with more spin than v1x.
Pro V1x = a little harder ball...travels further off the tee for most players.

The prov1 is softer which gives you more spin but I seem to lose a couple of yds. The prov1x is has a tad less spin but the ball has less spin off the tee (draws, fades)

Everyone has hit on the main points regarding these two balls but I think it's helpful to mention that if you have an approximate swing speed hovering below 100mph, then you're going to see a greater difference in these two balls--at least for your long game. A golfer, for example, with a swing speed of 80mph who uses a Pro V1 will see something around a 10 yd gain if he switches to the Pro V1x.

On a somewhat related note, that is why ball fitting is very important for serious golfers. This is why Bridgestone's ball fitting trailer has been so immensely popular (at least in my experience in golf retail).

(I would try out the Bridgestone ball fitting. It's pretty cool!)

The V1 is supposed to spin more, but I have found that you don't really lose a ton of spin with the V1x. Golf Digest even published an article that the V1x spins more due the fact that it has a thinner cover than the V1.

On a sidenote, Titleist says the V1 is more durable than the V1x, but once again, it isn't by much.

your spin milled vokey can scuff the V1x's QUICK. I've used the same v1x for 5 rounds and you can tell it's been played...it looks like it had a night of self-indulgence

It depends on the person.

I like the Pro V1 better because I am not worried about loosing 5-10 yards. I like the feel that it has around the greens and this is where I need it the most. I might actually try the Pro V1x just to see how much let off it is around the greens.

Well, I'm glad I used the search function..

So, is it safe/correct to say that the ProV1x will launch higher than the ProV1 and for a slower swinger it should go further?

Yes, but probably imperceptibly higher. We're talking about a degree or so, after all, and it's launch trajectory, not overall height (which depends on spin, ball speed, and other things).

and for a slower swinger it should go further?

No... that will depend on a lot. They may go about the same.

    • The MTB Prime and Prime X had issues with the cover being too soft and getting cut too easily. They said it was more prevalent in the Prime than the Prime X which I found odd because that was the exact opposite of my experience.
    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
