I love my Nike CCi irons, I have played about 6 rounds with them and my scores have dropped about 5-6 strokes, but thats prabably because I learned how to hit the ball properly...lol, I also have the SQ sumo (price just dropped to $199). I love my irons, and my driver, Nike makes good products I think it's just the fact that they aren't just purely a golf company that turns some golfers away from their products despite the fact that they are good.

I currently play a Nike driver and putter. Both are great. With my Nike vs. my Titleist with same shaft I get about 3 more miles per hour ball speed which translates to about 10 more yards in the air. Both are same degree. I am a big fan of Nike stuff. Way underrated if you ask me. I think that they need to dial their wedges in a little bit but otherwise they rock!

I've got the original Pro Combo irons, I like them and I'll certainly try the VRs when they come out, but soon my irons will be replaced. Leading candidates are the AP2, but not until I have tried the Nike VRs. I'd like to try to play a round with the Nike Blades, those are such a sexy looking iron, I've always been afraid my ball striking isn't good enough, but perhaps that'll help improve it.

I'm going to soon be changing 3 woods, I'll try Nike there too.

I bought a Nike Ignite Mid-Mallet putter and hated it. I think it was more because it was a mid-mallet design than anything else. I started out playing an anser and that is where I should have stayed. Went to an older ping and love it. I really like the older Ping equipment though.

I play the older 2007 Sumo Driver (MOI 4950 vs 5000 in the 2008 model). Have no complaints. Love the Aldila Proto by You shaft. Never tried any other of their clubs but have read good reviews of the old Slingshot OSS irons.

Driver: TaylorMade RocketBallz 10.5-deg
Woods: Cobra Bio Cell+ 3W and 5W
Hybrids: Bobby Jones Workshop Hybrid 3 (20-deg) and 5 (25-deg)
Irons: Srixon XXIO7 from 6 - PW
Wedge: Srixon XXIO7 GW and SW

Putter: Bobby Grace DCT Captiva 34"; Ball: Sirxon Soft Feel; Shoes: Footjoy

Went to the local golf store to help my buddy look for some irons yesterday. Just for kicks, I hit the new Slingshot 4D's and they felt REALLY good. I personally like them better than the OSS. My friend ended up going with the 4D's.

The Sumo 5000 is down to 189.99 to 199.99 locally, with the Aldila VS proto "by you" as a stock option it's a pretty good deal. I'm in the market for a lower lofted driver so it's tempting.

Love the one platnium, heard a rumor that they will be getting replaced, so when they get to $25 a dozen I will jump on it.

Really? I'm a Pro V1 man myself, but it's hard to beat $25 a dozen for One Platinums.

I still play with a sasquatch 3 wood, sumo2 hybrids and the slingshot oss irons.

The irons will someday be replaced (I hit them well so it is tough to justify getting new irons at this point), the 3 wood is in and out of my bag depending on the course I am playing, but at this point I do not see the hybrids ever leaving my bag.

I just started using Nike PowerSoft balls, and really like them. They have all the qualities I want: very soft, not too much spin off the driver/long irons, high ball flight, and cheap ($8 for a dozen used AAAAA).

    • Back in my Army days a "gooch" was a particular part of the anatomy. Example, say Okeechobee is the b-hole of Florida, then Belle Glade would be the gooch. Seems he wears his name well.
    • I can't say that I remember a lot of individual putts, but I do have one specific memory.  The first time I played the Old Course, I had hit a pretty good drive on the 6th hole.  I had about 60 yards left, and due to the swale in front of the green, there was no chance of flying a wedge on or near the green and having it stop on the green.  My caddie recommended either a running 7-iron chip or a putt, and I took the putter and a pretty hard swing.  The ball rolled over humps and through hollows, disappeared into the swale in front of the green, and re-appeared heading right at the hole.  I ended up maybe 12 feet away.  The caddie turned and held out his hand to shake mine, and said "Now THAT was a golf shot!"
    • For the first time since 2021, I made a 3 on the 12th at Stoneleigh.    395 yards, something like 80 feet uphill, I hit a solid drive and a 7-wood to inside a foot.  Even I couldn't miss that one.  I feel like I haven't played a lot of golf this year, but I'm making decent progress.
