We all know that even on the Tours, it is difficult to follow up a flawless round with even a good round. Hunter Mahan proved that again yesterday.

It only takes 1 little thing at the start of a round to set you up for the rest of the day. And some days nothing goes your way like it did the day before...

I'm glad Mahan survived enough to stay in the final group today. He and Stricker meshed well at the Presidents Cup last year, and I hope they both play well today.

Eric Axley also had two opposite rounds this week, but his were in opposite order of Mahan's. He came in 99th in FedExCup points, shot a 78 the first day, and bounced back with a 65 yesterday to make the cut on the number. That was nice to see because he would have been out after this week otherwise.

Also, what about Adam Scott's 82 yesterday? Yikes!

You are right, and we have all been through it. It is another reason that golf tests us in the mental aspect of the game.
