I'm a digger. Used to be a picker, but I was too inconsistant with ball striking.

I had to shallow of a backswing, so I recently steepened the backswing, and now I'm hitting the ball much more solidly.

I try to share with you my road to much, much better golf.  If my comments seemed arrogant, then I would call that projection on your part.  For me, I don't care one hoot what you, or anyone else thinks.  I don't have to prove anything to anyone.  You can dismiss my posts, and all I can say is, too bad for you.  I am bringing my forty years of golfing experience to bear on my comments.  What do you bring to the party?  Current thinking does not make it correct thinking.  Golf is evolving and not always for the better in my opinion.  I don't know whether my comments were related to old threads or not.  I don't frankly care.  You obviously don't understand my posts, or have any inkling of trying to understand them.  These are not my ideas.  They are the ideas of great golfing thinkers. I am also a golf author, with my work published in the UK, US, and Canada.

Approximately 85% of people on this site in the last year who have said more or less the same thing, turned out to be Patrick57. The statistics are not in your favor.

If Patrick57 agrees with me, kudos to Patrick.  I have not read any of his posting.  All I can say is, if Patrick and I are saying the same thing, then, I think it wise to pay attention!

Wise and P57 don't belong in the same sentence. I doubt your him though I get the feeling Iacas has his IP address on lock down some how. Knows when he try's to create new accounts and such. I picture alarms and gongs and a robotic voice "DANGER DANGER" Could be wrong tho

Sometimes I think you guys are too quick to assume people are Patrick57, and I thought this was one of those cases.  But the more he attempts to defend himself the more he reveals his identity and I tend to agree.

Defend myself?  No need.  I enjoy every moment on the golf course, hit the ball long and straight.  Whatever I put down in writing is my own personal experience, and the ideas which have helped me find a simpler and more consistent way to play.  If you people are happy with your golf, the way it is, that is fine.  You are in a place you want to be.  My objective is only to make a contribution which can help others who are not happy with their swing or scores.

Most of what is written in the literature is either wrong or not appropriate for the weekend golfer.  That is my opinion.  You may have a different one.  I don't need to see a pro, practice endlessly, or hit hundreds of balls out on the range.  Why?  Because I swing the clubhead, in balance, without great effort, and with spectacular  results.  I am excited about understanding the real golf swing, the one that has been used for hundreds of years.  Simplicity is the key to consistent golf.  The mind needs to be given instructions it can understand, and not be in conflict with itself.  If the pro tells you to do something, and you can't do it consistently, then a red flag should be raised.  If you have to struggle and struggle, it is because the mind is in conflict.  The pendulum model does not ask the mind to do anything it cannot understand or perform.   Current golf models are trying to replace a swing model with a more mechanical approach, using positions, and breaking the swing into many little pieces.  All I can say to the average weekend golfer is, good luck!

Is it ok if I just shoot myself in the head now, and get it over with?

Keep posting , man(or woman). If it's interesting I'll read it!

Taking the above advice may lead to destruction of your golf game. Laughing at it may reduce stress.

I'm normally a picker, but give me a bad day or a good downhill lie and I can throw some very impressive beaver pelts up in the air when I go for the ball........................................................

I am a picker with a med-high ball flight. I still take a divot, but no real trenches!

You my friend are obnoxious, rude, and an idiot.

Damn you're funny! Do you do kid's parties? You could make good money. Maybe get a lesson or two and improve your handicap a bit?

    • If your baby is crying why would you continue to play golf? Take the kid out and get them some play like a reasonable adult. If you don't like kids go to an adult only course. I bought a kid Caddie and it works awesome. The kids had a great time and the cup holders worked great for drinks. I even used the phone holder to record videos of me showing my little guy how to swing. Until you have kids you wouldn't understand.

    • Not exactly what I thought the article would be about but a little interesting. I immediately thought of @collegefbfan post.  I would like to believe that most instructors have a genuine passion to help their students get better, but I'm sure somewhere there's a guy that gives you just enough to make you have to come back. @iacas can answer this.  Other than being a PGA professional, is any governing body on certifications for an instructor?  I know of the USGTF but is that 100% legitimate?  Ryan: Lessons from the worst golf instructor in America In Tampa, there is a golf course that boasts carts that do not work, a water range, and a group of players none of which have any chance to break 80...
    • Is the guy a PGA professional or a USGTF professional, or just a guy that tinkers in a shop and has a pretty good golf game? Not knocking you in any way, just curios. Did he take a look at your clubs and take any measurements to see if your clubs length/ lie were OK for you? If you are hitting on a full size range then the launch monitor isn't 100% necessary, ball flight will tell you a lot along with some foot powder on the club face. If all he has is a net then yes a launch monitor is needed.  50 bucks an hour seems like a good deal. I pay 50 for a 1/2 hour. 30 mins is about all my mind will absorb and I leave with one solid thing to practice and a few drills to last to next time. Keep us posted on your journey.
    • I had a issue with the watch picking up the sensors on a consistent basis. I did what the instructions said, but since I have a GPS watch and an H4 I sent it back rather than to try to work out the issue.
