To me he is the hottest golfer in the world right now. He won the world cup and he is going to win the nedbank challenge tomorrow. BTW is the nedbank challenge an official sunshine tour event for WGR points because stenson should be back in the top 10 if it is . What are your thoughts on him?

I would definitely concur with the opinion that Stenson has been the best player in the world over the last month, maybe longer!! His all around game is excellent, he has no real weaknesses and is clutch at the death when he needs to be!!

Definitely a player to watch out for next season!!

What is interesting about Stenson is how well he can play and still make it boring to watch. A player's style makes or breaks the entertainment factor in golf.

He played some great golf, but it was like watching paint dry.

He's far from boring, he makes loads of birdies, ok he isn't the most animated and hides behind glasses but I like to watch him.

Ok that tourney was a procession but his win in Dubai in 2007 was thrilling as was the World Cup.

I can see Stenson becoming like Harrington and building his game around the majors.

the two third places in the open and the us pga last season ,erely hinted at this.

Fairway-green-birdie; fairway-green-par, fairway-green-birdie, now mix it up -- fairway-sand-par... rough-green-birdie...

Golf is more exciting when the player takes some chances, hits some great shots. Sergio did not play as well last weekend, but he was more fun to watch. Stenson was like robogolf. SubPar

What i notice about the golf channel on the European tour is the camera work is not near as good as on the pga tour, when watching the pga its great but watching the European it makes it less exciting, maybe its just me

I saw him play a couple of years ago in SF at the American Express at Harding Park and he reach a par 5 few golfers could reach and hit his 3 wood farther than other players driver.

He has the talent but needs a bit of Tiger in his tank to put it all together. I am surprise he has not won more often.

It's a shame that he wont play more events on the PGA than 10 or 11 next year. Opting for the Less competative and guaranteed money of the European Tour. Unfortunately he should ask guys like Monty and Ernie about there career choices now before he goes down the same road.

I do think that Henrik Stenson is a great player, i do not think that he is the hottest player at the moment though!!

For that title i would look at someone like Sergio Garcia or perhaps Robert Karlsson.

And Stenson has got a weakness, a major one, he cannot hit driver at all well at the minute, and i know he can hit his 3 wood further than most, but this is still a weakness.

With regards to him being boring, i think the complete opposite, he is a real character off the course, being a practical joker!! And his play is brillianty to watch, surely the whole point is to hit fairways and greens??????

I would say Stenson was very close to them just now, 2 wins in 2 weeks, and 2 3rd places in the last 2 majors of the season. He was also top 5 at the HSBC.

He is the absolute clown of the course the biggest joker going, I guess people just deal with the on-course stuff in different ways.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
