2. One round at top course 3. putt 4. firm/soft 5. wood 6. pro golf 7. with others 8. ride 9. hotter the better

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

1. Hit from the middle of the fairway with a 5-iron, or from the rough with a 9-iron?

ans: 9 iron unless lie is bad and grass is high

2. Play one round at a top-rated course (Augusta, etc.) or 10 rounds at a muni?

ans: Augusta is always the answer

3. Drain a 30 footer for par, or hole-out for par? (Just wondering what gets you more pumped.)

ans: no opinion, but holing-out for par is "uplifting," like you stole a stroke

4. Use a firm putter with a soft ball, or a soft putter with a firm ball?

ans: firm putter with soft ball, but a soft putter with soft ball is better

5. Hit a hybrid or wood off the deck?

ans: Wood

6. Play professional golf and struggle to make cuts (and money) or do what you do now and earn a steady salary?

ans: Do what I do now

7. Play a round in under 3 hours by yourself, or play a 4 hour round with 3 other people?

ans: Play a foursome

8. Walk or ride?

ans: Ride

9. Play in the cold (<40*) or in the heat (>85*)?

ans: Play in the heat... of course

1. Depends about the lie of the shot on the rough. But 9/10 times, a 5 iron from the fairway

2. Depends on how often would you play. I'd say the top rated course if I could play every day of the week 3. hole out 4. 1st option 5. Any of those 6. Professional golf for a year or 2 7. in a foursome 8. walk 9. Neither. I'd rather play in the cold

1. Hit from the middle of the fairway with a 5-iron, or from the rough with a 9-iron?
Depends on the rough.

2. Play one round at a top-rated course (Augusta, etc.) or 10 rounds at a muni?
If you can get me on to Augusta then let's go. Otherwise, we have some really nice munis here in Denver.

3. Drain a 30 footer for par, or hole-out for par? (Just wondering what gets you more pumped.)
Either one... doesn't matter.

4. Use a firm putter with a soft ball, or a soft putter with a firm ball?
I'm using my putter regardless of the ball.

5. Hit a hybrid or wood off the deck?
Again, doesn't matter. Depends on the distance... I hit the woods (3W - 4W) farther than the hybrid (4H or 5H).

6. Play professional golf and struggle to make cuts (and money) or do what you do now and earn a steady salary?
Do what I do now... I'm retired.

7. Play a round in under 3 hours by yourself, or play a 4 hour round with 3 other people?
Play with others. Golf's more fun when it's shared.

8. Walk or ride?
Ride. Used to walk... too much water under my bridge these days.

9. Play in the cold (85*)?
Heat. I don't like heat much either, but 40° is about my limit even when there's no wind.

1. Hit from the middle of the fairway with a 5-iron, or from the rough with a 9-iron?
As others have said, depends on the rough. Typically I would rather have 9 iron, though.
2. Play one round at a top-rated course (Augusta, etc.) or 10 rounds at a muni?
I guess I take top rated course (probably Augusta, since my mother lives near there anyway).
3. Drain a 30 footer for par, or hole-out for par? (Just wondering what gets you more pumped.)
Putt for Par. At least that means I was on green 1 shot sooner, plus hole-outs are more luck than putt.
4. Use a firm putter with a soft ball, or a soft putter with a firm ball?
I prefer a softer putter, so I'll go with that choice.
5. Hit a hybrid or wood off the deck?
Hybrid
6. Play professional golf and struggle to make cuts (and money) or do what you do now and earn a steady salary?
I'll happily struggle since by playing since at least I'd sturggle doing what I love.
7. Play a round in under 3 hours by yourself, or play a 4 hour round with 3 other people?
I'd rather play with others (as long as I know them - if not, I'd rather play by myself).
8. Walk or ride?
Ride, but it kind of depends on course and weather conditions.
9. Play in the cold (<40*) or in the heat (>85*)?
I'll always choose hot. I've never played in weather too hot (and I've played over 100* a couple times).

1. Hit from the middle of the fairway with a 5-iron, or from the rough with a 9-iron?
I HATE this question!!!! Am i a 5 iron out because i popped up a drive and only hit it 210? How did i get in the rough? I'm so confused!!! Actually, i'd always rather be in the fairway.

2. Play one round at a top-rated course (Augusta, etc.) or 10 rounds at a muni?
Augusta. I've already played lots of good munis.

3. Drain a 30 footer for par, or hole-out for par? (Just wondering what gets you more pumped.)
Putt. I'm pretty good with the flatstick, so a 30 footer is not completely luck. Holing out pretty much is.

4. Use a firm putter with a soft ball, or a soft putter with a firm ball?
Soft faced putter, no ball preference.

5. Hit a hybrid or wood off the deck?
Hybrid. I'm blind in my right eye because of MS, so fairway woods always look like their set closed when i'm over the ball. I can still hit them, but i'm never comfortable over the ball.

6. Play professional golf and struggle to make cuts (and money) or do what you do now and earn a steady salary?
If i had the skills, i'd at least try to make a living playing tour golf.

7. Play a round in under 3 hours by yourself, or play a 4 hour round with 3 other people?
Why so long? I'd rather play with my group and play in 3:15 with a foursome. If i'm playing alone, i'll play in 2 hours, not 3.

8. Walk or ride?
Can't walk more than 10 or 12 holes because of the MS. So, i'd rather ride now, since i can't play a full round if i walk. But, if i was able, i'd rather walk.

9. Play in the cold (<40*) or in the heat (>85*)?
Yes! Kidding! Probably the heat, although i regularly play until late November in northeast Illinois. In the heat, you don't have to use as much strategy to keep hands warm. And, the ball behaves more normally. Plus, if it's under 40 and windy, it can suck the fun right out of the game. But, pretty much if it's in the high 30's and not windy, i'm playin'! And, it has to be over 100 and humid for me to not play in hot weather. (Since we have a 7am tee time, that has never happened, iirc.)

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
