I accidently forgot my PW next to the green one time. I got to the next hole and needed it only to find out that its gone. So i went back to the group behind me and they had it for me.

I've always had someone give me my club when I've forgotten it. Actually had a hole last weekend where I was chipping.. and chipped to within a couple inches. I hurried to the green to get my ball out of the way of the other 3 players in my group, and left my putter laying well off the fringe where I didn't see it when walking back to the cart.

About 5 minutes later as I was hitting my approach shot on the next hole, the guys behind us pull up and hand me my putter. Very much appreciated and I felt like a moron. Leaving a club behind is one of my pet peeves. I don't do it often and hate when someone in my group does it. I'm usually pretty conscious about it and always check the green for my entire group when walking off.

I guess the nicest thing anyone ever did for me .... (this is dumb)

I was playing a hole with several houses down the left hand side, and a man was out in the yard with his dog. This dog was staring me down and I told my partner "It'd be funny if he grabbed my ball". I hit my approach shot on the green.. and sure enough that dog takes off, grabs my ball, and runs off. The owner starts trying to chase him to get it back but I thought it was so funny that I really didn't care and told him not to worry about it. Three holes later, the owner catches up with me and hands me my ball and tries to give me a $20 for causing trouble. Of course I wouldn't take it... the way it happened it was one of the funnier things I had seen. My dog is the exact same way. When I'm practicing, she'll sit beside me... and when you say Go she'll go fetch the ball and bring it back. She'll run a good 150 yards to get the ball. I can't even practice putting in the house because she grabs everything! :)

1) Golfers are the nicest people 98% of the time when you meet them on or off the golf course.

2) I had someone break my windshield as I was driving off the golf course and he paid for the windshield, his round that day cost him $275. honesty and integrity of the golfers.

3) bird chirping, the manicured greens, the overall scenry on the golf course.

today, my dad and i were playing and there were a couple of guys in front of us who, if i were to just guess at their handicaps, i'd say 20-25. anyway, they waved us through but stayed parked alongside the green. dad was away, about 130 yards out. he put his ball just barely on the front part of the green, and they clapped for him and yelled "good shot." i was about 90 yards out, pushed mine just a little bit but still made it onto the green, and they once again clapped and said we must be a couple of pros.

we're not, obviously, but it was nice to get such positive feedback from total strangers.

I was thinking along those lines myself.

My girlfriend and I attended a party thrown in honor of a couple who'd recently engaged. It was being held at a country club. At some point during the party we snuck off in the dark to better examine the playability of the first tee. This was my first time ever stepping foot on a tee box....ever. Golf courses held a different allure for me after that. Outstanding playgrounds after dark. I later proposed to and married the young lass. It's been wonderful ever since.

Same for me. My girlfriend and I sneaked onto Odana Hills GC (after dark) and got intimate on the 4th green. A couple of weeks later I was shocked to see the flagstick in her bedroom. She had gone back and stolen it as a trophy. (This was a long time ago, so the statute of limitations should be up by now!)

I lost my cell phone between the 14th and 17th hole. A young man working in the pro shop lent me his cell phone and a golf cart. I called my cell phone number and located my cell phone just off the 15th fairway. I rewarded the young man for his kindness.

You clearly have never played leo j martin a municipal course. people will never let you pass even which makes for some long rounds. My friends and I play pretty quickly so we get to the teebox and they just started to tee off. One time my friend bombed a drive that came near the group in front of us accidently, but the guy smacks his ball into the woods and then leaves the flag stick out on that hole.

The nicest thing that I have seen was a gentleman offered my son half a bucket of balls, with the comment "pay it forward" when my son thanked him.
