RUSS's avg drive - 230yrds and climbing

I've had a few eagles over the years, I've holed out from the fairway, chipped in, made the putts, but I've never had the most important eagle of all, a hole in one

Cheers, Allan

Several in my lifetime.

I only had one last year. I've holed out from the fairway, chipped in, made putts and had a couple of aces.

I'm after another hole in one, and a bunch eagles this year.

driver: FT-i tlcg 9.5˚ (Matrix Ozik XCONN Stiff)
4 wood: G10 (ProLaunch Red FW stiff)

putter: Studio Select Newport 1.5

230 yard par 4? Seriously? (although my home course has a 455 yard par 5). I have zero eagles. I've reaches the green in two on par 5s on probably 5-10 occasions over the last 7-8 months and had realistic chances at eagle. Today hit a 295 yard drive and a 5 iron into the green on a par 5, then missed the 25' left to right breaker by about 3". I've left an eagle putt 6" short, and several others close. I'll break through soon, though.

What I play:

Driver: XLS Hibore 9.5* Fit-On Red (S)
Woods: Tour XPC 16* Graffaloy ProLite (S)
Hybrid: Exotics 3HIrons: Reid Lockhart 3-SWWedge: rac 60*Putter: a crappy $20 Academy putter (but it works!)

Ive never had an eagle yet but i havent even been playing for a year. I have holed from the fairway but that was after 2 shots so it was mostly birdies and one on a par 3.

In my Xtreme Sport bag
'09 Burner 9.5*
F50 15* 3 Wood
Burner 18* 5 Wood
MX-19 4-GW SV Tour 54.12 & 58.08 White Hot 2-Ball SRT

I've had numerous eagles throughout the years, but never on a par 3. The majority of mine are on par 5's, taking advantage of my length. As far as a total, I would say in the vicinity of 50.
But I'm still waiting on that hole-in-one ! I've been within an inch twice.

yea its nice to have a 3-5 iron into a par 4 from the tee it helps the eagle statistic

wow this makes me feel somewhat special or just damn lukky. I had a eagle early last year on the 1st hole of the course 30th or so round I ever played. drove 240 down rt side of frway and 60* 90 yds uphill ...I didnt get to see it drop though, but found the ball mark 5 yds long of the hole. my score for the round ? 102 LOL. Also had a 20 ft putt opprt for Eagle on a par 5,MISSED....biggest pisser of all ,,,,I drove green onto a 330 par 4 around a blind and a dude in a group ahead of us(i didnt know they were on green) putted my ball ! and then denied touching my ball, they quickly departed the parking lot at 18 ...gee i wonder why???????? 3 ft from a ace on a par 3 is closest for me.

OUCH!!!!! 2,,,, 1 inch birdies that had to hurt! x2

I only have had 1 eagle in 8 years of playing golf. I was so shocked as I stood there thinking about my drive and the shot I just made. I could not remember my second shot. There was none, but that was uncomprehendable. The 2 people I were playing with were making all sorts of funny noises and jumping up and down. This was a par 4, 336 yards.

I've made 0 (and counting).

I have only been putting for eagle once or twice, and both times left it short and had an uphill birdie putt of under a foot, so I consider it worth it to have missed both.

    • That’s a 19th hole story that would be recounted for many, many moons to come for sure…..
    • I know. I was just kidding. BTW - I'd take the second place with the meltdown. It would at least make a good story.
    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
