Sorry if this is thread highjacking but their are no new posts for a week. I am in the market for new grips I currently have lamkin crossline blue cord and with the reviews I have read about the golf pride new decades I decided to try them. I put new decade on my 9i and it was good but I wasn't in love with the grips so now I am looking for other options. I also re-griped my putter with a winn grip and loved the super tacky feel of the putter, it seemed to take some of the tension out of my hands. So I am open to suggestions on winn grips with that super tacky feel that are reasonably hard. I also have a wedge with a golf pride tour wrap that I like. I am willing to buy 5 or 6 different grips and put them on different clubs and take them out on the course to test them out for a couple of rounds. If you have a grip you like and you would recommend let me know and let me know what you like about the grip, why is it different.

Thanks

I really like the decade multi-compound from golf pride, they look sharp and I love the feel of the grip.

Corded grips tend to tear up my hands and I hate wearing a glove. Your basic GP Tour velvet is all you need. I never had much luck with Winn. Liked them at first but they wore quickly. Guess if you have to go cord, go New Decade.

If I wasn't clear the golf pride new decades are on my short list but before I put them on all my clubs I want to find out what else is out there. When I change my grip those grips will be on my irons for 2 years. After I make this decision I hope to find a grip that I like and than focus on more important things like lessons.

Thanks to big M

This is exactey what I am looking for for advice.

My short list: golf pride new decades, winn pci or xi-7, or golf pride tour wraps. I would like to get this list up to 5 or 6 and then test out the grips with several trips to the course and find out what kind of grip works for me.

I just got the Golf Pride New Decades put on 2 clubs to try (had them both in for loose ferrules - wanted to make sure the clubhead hadn't moved or anything). The pro (who i have been taking lessons from as well) said they were very popular and he had heard nothing but good things about them. I haven't hit them yet, but the feel is amazing from the address and practice swings I have taken. I will give them a good workout in the morning when I get off of work, and if all goes well - I will probably have all my clubs re-gripped by my tee time on Friday

Also, the 56deg. SW i regripped had a Winn G8 grip on it previously. Initially I liked that grip (very soft), but the more I played, it just didn't feel as good.

I think these are gonna be great!

I have Titleist 990's, and have had them for almost 8yrs. I like them alot but I'm in need of new grips. Yes, you are correct, other than washing them, I've NEVER gotten new grips. Horrible, I know. I like the cord grips, but also am open to others. Does anyone have any grip recommendations?

My last regripping was up for grabs. I prefer cords but asked on here what to go with. The Golf Pride New Decade Multi Compound grip was highly suggested.

It took my irons and wedges in and had them regripped with these. All I can say is the recomendations from this forum were spot on. These have been my favorite grips ever. I'm currently dabbling with some midsize grips on a few sticks to see if I want to head in this direction. If this proves to be the case, then I'll be regripping every stick with midsize versions of the GPNDMC (man, that's a mouthful). They really seem like they will last a good long while, too.

I too am a big fan of the Golf Pride New Decade. Golf Pride has an improved version of the Tour Velvet cord, the BCT, they would also be a very good option.

How many rounds did you have when you notice the club not feeling as good?

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
