I am hearing a lot of good talk about the Mizuno irons: MP 57, MP 30, MX 100, 200, 25, etc..

i went from playing x-16's...the clubs my pop gave me to my MP-60's and I couldn't have been happier that I made the change....

buttery soft...beautiful lines when you setup.... easy to line up...it just helps you get that extra confidence when you step to the ball tha tyou can make the shot as far as which type. many will say that you should get your ball striking better until you switch to a semi-cavity club like the 57... my ball striking was ok when I made the switch...and it's only improved tremendous amounts (as said by someone that I played my 3rd and 7th round of golf with...and play with on the regular now). go demo a bunch...but don't be hung up on just mizuno b/c of the name brand and what you hear. when I made the switch..I didn't even know Mizuno was a dope club...They did a blind test for me...gave me about 15 clubs and we went down the line until I found the one that I felt and hit best with.

Does anyone play mp-57s? If you do, I am a jealous person...LOL. I search for any Mizuno demos near me just to hit them. Not so forgiving but heavenly when hit correctly.

Whatever the case, don't let anyone tell you, "you shouldn't play ___ irons unless you are less than X handicap" or "if your handicap is more than X you should only play ___ irons". That might be a good guide but you don't know until you go and hit them, preferrably on a Trackman or the like.

my buddy plays the mx-25 and they are pure butter! mine are good but i think about hitting him in the head with my 9 iron and mugging him for those irons every time we play.

It's funny....in a thread I started, you said to stick with the MX series without saying why.

I couldn't agree more. I played my first round with the 25's yesterday and I could work them pretty well. And yes, they did feel good. Very good.

I played R7 Draws and they drew too much! I switched to MP-57s at a handicap of around 26. After a few adjustment sessions at the range, I had no trouble hitting them vs. the R7 clubs and have worked my handicap down a couple of points along the way.

I do get more feedback (feel) from the Mizunos and I think it's helped make my swing more accurate. I consider the feedback a training aid. The best thing to do would be to demo a set - a used one even, why not? See how you like them. You may or may not, but my experience won't translate to yours - I think we're all different in that regard.

I love the way my irons hit when I pull my head out and hit them correctly.

Also, I cannot figure out 2 things.

First, why are there not many big names sponsored on tour?

Second, how can Mizuno not make golf shoes? Seriously, they're Mizuno.

they did make shoes.. they were called the mizuno waves.. much like their sneaker line(name wise). unlike their sneakers however, they sucked (I had a pair and after one rd i promptly threw them in the trash. why the trash? i didn't want anyone else to suffer with them) and accordingly no one bought them.

btw i have the mp-67s and i love them!

    • Day 299: played 18. Hit the ball well, but did not score well. I think I ended up +10, with half of that coming on 2 holes.
    • Day 549, May 4, 2024 After lessons and working with Natalie, hit some balls for awhile. Just backswing stuff. Forgot about the slightly shorter stuff, though I'm sure it was as they were only about 75% speed with brief pauses.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
