I am sort of a beginner at golf and im in the market in purchasing some forgiving irons. N-E one know a set that i can purchase for a pretty resonable price?

I would look in the back of circulars or at web sites for bargains and clearance on older model name brand sets for irons. If you live in a larger city golf shops like austads, golf galaxy, golf smith, golf usa sell house brands and will usually give some limited fitting help for free. I reccomend you don't go the Walmart route. A lot of the shafts are junk, and quality control a joke, so if lofts lies, defects occur there is nowhere to go.

Well i have a set of Callaway Steelhead X-14 Irons. Maybe those irons are better than i thought but i can afford up to 300-350 dollars. Ive kinda had my eye on a set of nike slingshot irons but those seem to high for my taste.

Try golfgods.com and look in there hot deals section, you shouldn't have any trouble finding what your looking for.

Try the Cleveland Launchers, Wilson Fat Shafts, Cobra 3400 IX/H, or the Callaway Big Berthas. I started out with the Fat Shafts and they quickly improved my game. Easy to hit, Affordable, and Fun.

If used is OK, look for a set of Cleveland TA-5s. Very easy to hit and you can still work them a little when you get to that point.

In general, look for a good set that has been replaced in the manufacturer's lineup (Cleveland replaced the TA-5 with the TA-6). Also, work with a pro, get fitted for your irons, or at least have the pro recommend something to start with until your swing gets a little more repeatable. Good luck!
