This week the tour stops in Irving, Texas for the HP Byron Nelson Championship! the main candidates for the win this week come from phil, poulter, justin leonard, vijay singh and AK with the likes of Charley Hoffman, David Toms, Mike Weir and Brian Gay also involved. once again im going with AK because believe it or not he didnt play that badly at all last week, he missed at least 15 putts or so within 10 feet so if he can sort out his putting he will be in with a very good chance this week! who do you think will be winning the Byron Nelson come Sunday?

I fancy Adam Scott is due a good round as there seems to be something in players defending titles recently. Nice to see another manc on a mainly US site, where do you play?

I would think that phil will be a strong favourite. Id like to see brian gay get up there and danny lee hopefully make the cut.

Uh Phil who? Not Mickelson for sure. He's with his wife.

I'd like to see Scott do well again.

But then, he's going through a swing-revamp and finding it tough to adjust - he hasn't broken 70 since January or made a cut in his last 5 outings.

A little late on the call. But personally Adam Scott is the most overrated player on the tour. Just my two cents.

I'm picking Dustin Johnson. Dude has game.

i was thinking phil mickleson up untill i found out he wasnt going to be there and now i was just hoping that danny lee would make the cut and not do too bad.

If I hit it right, it's a slice. If I hit it left, it's a hook. If I hit it straight, it's a miracle.

Just started watching the first 10 minutes of coverage, and players are absolutely attacking the pin positions.

Scoring will be great if the weather stays the same.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
