Got a question, i'm a 22 handicape at my course, which it brings me to my knees. But the guys i play with tell me it'll make me a better player. Well i went to play with at an easy course with some friends, and i shot a 83. But i really don't count that cause i thought it was way to easy. Should i keep playing at easier courses or keep playing at extremely difficult courses? I'm less than a year in the game.

Play a wide variety of courses. It's all about experience at this point for you. Believe me when I say that it sometimes takes as much patience and skill to think your way around an "easy" course as it does to play a harder course.

Not a low handicapper, but hey a course is a course. 83 is a nice score for a 22. Any idea what the course rating and slope was?

I would certainly "count" the score, plug it in for your handicap and move on to the next one.

All courses have a rating and slope, so you should get a benefit as far as handicap for playing the harder course. It all works out in the end.

I would implore you to play as many different courses as you can, it's only gonna make you a better player. If you really want to lower your scores, spend an hour before each round on the putting green instead of pounding drivers on the range. Good luck on your journey.

I would for sure count that score!! The course has ratings for this reason. Don't cut yourself short....that is a good score!

I would play a ton of different courses. The easier ones still take skill to shoot a good score. I would be proud of that score only playing a year.

What is your handicap index? I bet you will find that this number is much less than your course handicap of 22. My index is an 8.0 but my home course handicap is a 10. That's the wonderful thing about the handicapping system, it adjusts for the different courses you play. Most if not all courses have a chart that will give you the course handicap based on your index. Beats doing the high math... Nice round by the way!!!

Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to...
