I think if you try to flop it the ball will end up hitting you in the face.

Do you think they offer a spin-milled model?

If they ever bring the stymie rule back into effect, there's something to be said for a full swing that will produce a shot that travels a foot and a half... really takes the guesswork out of that delicate little chip.

I'll have to bend mine to 88* and shave off 6 or 8 degrees of bounce for it to work for me.

That putter is amazing. I like the design, but it's a little too light for my liking. Hopefully the guys at Heavy Putter will catch on to this craze and develop their own model.

Something like this would be perfect:

Pow, indeed.

I would hope so. Anyone buying that club should be aware of the hazards.

I'd be more worried that I'd undercut the ball completely, i.e. no real contact made. Did this last Sunday with my opened-up SW in a flop shot attempt, and from a thinnish lie to boot! Didn't think it was a possible outcome. Boy do I hate when that happens.

I love the flopper, when used appropriately, but an 80deg would be waaaay too difficult to contact consistently. Fun to try tho' ......

The spin milled 80* would be cool as hell . . . line up, take a full swing, hit the ball, walk 3 feet, and hit it again . . .

You mean walk 3 feet backwards, right? That's probably what the real result of a spin milled 80* would be like. Would kinda be funny to try actually.

why don't you just putt the ball if you want it a foot infront of you? I'm pretty sure I could get through the same distance in rough with the ball on the ground than putting it up and hitting it that close to me.

HAHA, I just checked out the putter on that website, it's like a metal croquet mallet. Pretty sure you can't do that or I would actually be using a croquet mallet.

Aside from it being illegal in regulation play, does anyone think that putter design may hold water?

It may help you putt along a steadier line or something due to it being narrow?

In all seriousness, it could potentially hold merit as a practice tool because you would have to groove a stroke that constantly strikes the ball on or close to the sweet spot or risk squirting the ball 45 degrees left or right of the hole.

But as an actual putter having any characteristics that will improve your putting or your handicap... in my humble opinion, no way.

Clearly the man has a few nutz missing, but his records are pretty impressive...473 Non-wind assist carry and roll...wow! That's like a possible hole-in-one long par 4 :yikes:

Seriously, it seems like a bunch of garbage, did anyone see the tennis racket? The only thing that really caught my attention for a brief period of time is the shaft design...while it would allow for better aerodynamics, and reduce lateral flex, wouldn't affect the vertical flex??? Maybe I am reading way too much into this stuff, but thought it was interesting.

After seeing the website, and thinking of some weird commercials on TV, I am moved to shout:

"Don't be fooled by imitations -- purchase only the authentic products." Then quickly, followed by... "only 500 are permitted to be sold each day -- hurry, call now, time is running out. (Offer void where prohibited.)"

I swear Tiger should try this out. Say he shoots about 66-68 average for a round. He takes off 10 strokes for the holes in it driver, 10 strokes off for the hammer putter, 5 strokes off for the 80* wedge , and another 10 off for the "power hitting system" or w.e.. Not to mention the power ball and if he said pow after all his shots he could take off 5 more right there. With these improvements he could be shooting about 26-28 for a round:).

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
