Pro V1: love the feel around the greens.

I have been playing with some Bridgestone's lately too ... love the B330-RX (luckily I found one that someone had lost).

I buy my Pro V1 on lostgolfballs.com (highest quality). I did buy a sleeve of Bridgestone e5+ too and haven't made up my mind about them yet. I also found a e6+ that I'm not sure I like either.

My biggest problem (as many people have posted in other threads) is that I usually play the junk I find on the course. I think there is something to be said of finding a ball & sticking to it so that you get a consistent feel for how it plays.

Dawg,

I usually buy 10 dozen AAA quality, that's how I get them so cheap. I've bought AAAA before but I honestly don't see the point. AAA is very usable. I don't have a problem playing them on the course at all. Out of the ten dozen I toss maybe 10 into the practice bag as unusable and I won't use balls stamped as practice. That still leaves me over a hundred balls for $80 with free shipping.

You get a few logo balls but that doesn't affect how they play, and it's pretty neat to see all the stuff that gets stamped on a golf ball.

With all the talk about lostgolfballs.com I had to check it out. I've been wanting to try the TM TP reds so I end up ordering 24 AAAA TP reds for $24 plus $9 shipping.

If I were in the market for a top tier ball, it would be the Pro V1. I've always liked how that ball played. But since I play a mid-tier ball, I've found that I like the Nike One Vapor the best. I've played the Bridgestone e series, Titleist NXT series, and Srixon Trispeed over the past year and a half along with the Nike ball. The One Vapor just seems to feel the best off my irons and wedges. It also behaves the best off the tee for me.

I bought a dozen Pro V1x the other day.
I've posted three negative differentials, a 0.9 and a 1.2 since switching.

Damn, these balls are great .

I used to play Pro V1s all the time because I got them free through my job. I changed jobs and went to work for the gov't so I got cut off. I managed to leave there with a stock of about 8 dozen. Since than I try to use top flite gamers during my casual rounds and practice so I don't have to spend 45 a dozen.
Driver: i15, 3 wood: G10, Hybrid: Nickent 4dx, Irons: Ping s57, Wedges: Mizuno MPT 52, 56, 60, Putter: XG #9

I've been playing the TaylorMade Burner TP (3 piece), but after getting to preview the new TaylorMade Penta TP (5 piece), that will probably be my ball for next year. It blows away any other premium ball I've used ( and I've tried them all). The only problem is that it won't be available to the general public until November, and the season here in Colorado is just about over by then.

Anyone who plays either the Pro V1 or V1x (or any other premium ball) owes it to himself to try this one when he gets a chance.

Let's see here, Titleist has been making balls how long? Very long, like 70yrs.since 1932 right?

And let's see Nike has been making balls for what 8yrs? LOL Sorry, Nike can't make balls, they make shoes!

If we all took that attitude on everything in life, no new invention would ever come to light. That's a silly and parochial way of looking at anything. Are you still playing with hickory clubs and a gutta percha ball? Time in business doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Seems to me the last I heard Bridgestone made the balls for Nike... I may be wrong on the specifics, but I know that Bridgestone makes golf balls for several other brand names. And they have been in business for a very long time, and in business making far more than just golf balls. They actually do the basic research and development on the rubbers and plastics that the balls are made from, not just on trying different combinations of those materials.

Why:
1) It's as good as anything out there, doesn't spin too much, great feel on the green
2) I don't lose a lot of balls, so I'm not pissing away a $4 ball every few holes

Ill play the cheap walmart intech beti ti's or buy used off ebay, currently trying some used slazenger balls i just got, I like the raw distance balls, might try some of those new in the future sometime or look for more used ones. But ill play about anything, i go for distance balls over feel as I can always use more distance and the feel or soft balls dont help me as I cant spin the ball that well anyway, might be better for putting but thats about it.

    • Day 252: worked on chipping for a while with my chipping net. Worked on low, medium, and high shots. Productive session.
    • Day 180 - 2025-03-29 Not a long time today, but I got my five minutes in jumping and doing some work on the downswing.
    • I’ll just stick to the basics for now - got enough to work on… this is my home practice range. The little clearing in about the center of the photo is roughly 200 yards.

    • Played Musgrove Mill today. 72.3/155. +9 for 15 official holes as 2 holes are closed, and the par 5 16th plays as a converted par 3. We played the first three holes over to finish 18, and parred 1 and2 amped bogeyed 3. The good: hit every fairway. 1 less than normal for the converted par 3, but the second time I have done that this year. My sand wedge approach on 10 after a monster drive hit the pin in the back left corner hit he pin and spun away to 9’, and I missed the putt.   The great: hit 8 GIR and 7 were inside 10’. Needs work: Missed every birdie putt. No lip-outs. Just struggled on fast greens. Three-putted the par-5 9th with the pin on the back tier and jut missed hitting my approach to the proper level and it spun all the way to the front of the green.
