After 22 years of playing, I had my first hole in one today. Unfortunately it wasn't a part of a real round. Was playing in a scramble.

All of us had hit our tee shots and were left with lengthy putts. I decided to use a mulligan we were given (each player got one) and aced it. lol

Figures that I get a hole in one that way. I personally don't even think of it as a hole in one but I guess it technically is.

Congratulations!

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Technically, with a mulligan, in a scramble? Okay.

Might count as a 1 for the tournament, but beyond that... mmmm.... nice par?

One of my fears is that I'm going to get my first ace sometime when I'm playing alone sometime.

I guess it "Technically" isn't but I'd still consider one. Congrats.

Yeah, the mulligan reset things. You holed it with a tee shot right? THat's a hole in one in my book.

I guess as long as it was by the rules, its still a hole in one.

But, like you, id be pretty dissapointed if it happened to me that way.

I don't know what you're talking about...

Our scorecard says "1" for that hole. Yeah, playing alone and getting one would suck. That's part of the excitement; having three other guys there to share in the moment.

Exactly. We were allowed a mulligan for the scramble so I teed another one up and it went in. Still wish it had came in a "real" round though. Maybe I'll get another. Most of the guys that I know who have gotten one seem to get more sooner than it took to get the first once they've gotten that first one. Hopefully I don't have to wait another 22 years.

Sounds good to me. It is no different than if you were to play a second round and hit in even though it was your 2nd time playing the hole that day.

Hey, you hit it off the tee directly into the hole.....awesome accomplishment.

Congrats.

Youre telling me! When Im playing alone, I will look around to make sure someone is at least in yelling distance before I tee off on a par three. LOL. That way I can be like "hey! come co-sign this!" haha!.

while its technically not legit, keep the ball & get it framed/mounted - if you feel shady about it, just replace it with your next one.

My only hole in one was with a mulligan as well. Pulled my first OB and I dropped another ball and nailed my 6 iron, one bounce and in. While our group allows one mulligan per round, they wouldn't give me the 1 and posted a 3 on the card....I guess I agree, but I still have the ball!

Part of me wants to count it, but whenever it comes up I always call it a hole in 3.

congrats i say claim it and if you do not then its one very good par haha

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.
