Do you guys read golf magazines? I was wondering which ones? Where should I go for the best price for a subscription?

I like the free magazines at golf courses (ex: in my area we get Avid Golfer at multiple locations). I do currently have a subscription to Golf Magazine(free gift for purchasing business supplies) and have at one time subscribed to Golf Digest. IMO, golf magazines add to the confusion. The swing tips can contradict themselves from month to month. The best part of the magazine is often the interview.

If you want to pay for a magazine for reading enjoyment, I'd get Golf Digest. Pay attention to the strategy tips, but don't focus on the swing tips. For golf instruction, books, DVDs, and an instructor are the way to go.

These days, I get most of my golf news from the internet

I don't really know what I'm talking about :-p but I just got a subscription to Golf Digest - it's $12 for 12 issues plus two "Tip Guides". Even if it turns out not to be that great of a magazine, I figured that a dollar a month really wasn't going to break the bank.

Agreed, to pay I'd go with Golf Digest but in my area the free mag is the "midsouth golfer" I like it far better than the rest simply due to it is focused on area golf. So I'd check your local shops and see if you have a local mag that does the same.
You'd probably enjoy it more.

I like Golf Magazine and Golf Digest, just like everyone else has said already. I think I like Golf Magazine better though, to be honest.

I get Golf Magazine. Circulation on Golf Magazine is about 1.4 million while Golf Digest is about 1.5 million (for 2004 the latest I could find). I'll probably get a sub for Golf Digest because I like the equipment reviews.

I think Golf World is a weekly and probably more like a trade magazine.

I read Golf Magazine. I used some frequent flier miles, so it was free in essence. I jump right to the last page to read Feherty's column. That is the main reason I choose this publication over the others.

I read them, but they're a cheap way to think about golf and I rarely give a toot about the instruction or the equipment articles. I like the player profiles and some of the other stuff.

I like GolfWorld. The articles are awesome, and they aren't completely covered in advertisements. Plus as iacas said, I don't read magazines for tips. They only really mess my game up.

I finally gave up Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. I think they have really gone down hill over the last 5 or 10 years.

LINKS Magazine is my favorite.

    • Let’s consider then if Tiger hadn’t had all those surgeries then too. I’m thinking 21 majors and about 100 total PGA victories against much stiffer competition.

    • With scratch being a highly sought after goal, what are the realistic chances of reaching said goal after age, 30, 40, 50, etc...?
    • LIV made a big mistake scheduling an event this week. A lot of the top LIV players are eligible to play on the DP World Tour and they could have been playing at the Scottish Open this week with the top players on the PGA Tour. It would have been a good chance for exposure outside of the Majors. Nobody watches LIV golf.
    • The equipment rules say a club is an implement designed for striking a golf ball, and consists of a clubhead and shaft, possibly  a grip.  If it doesn't fit that definition, it's something else, perhaps a training device.  But a 50 inch driver is still a club, non conforming.  A club with stickers on the face is non conforming, but counts as a club, and me made conforming by removing the stickers.
