best grip for humidity

Can anyone recommend a particular grip for playing in high humid weather? I noticed this weekend, while playing in 90+ degree weather, my hands started slipping a bit on the back nine. I tried drying off my glove and grips before every shot, but my grip still felt a little slippery. Thanks in advance for any advice...

Are you talking about the grip on the club, or the way you grip club?

I assume your talking about the actual grip on the club. Try some powder or they make this liquid stuff (cant remember the name of it) for sweaty hands.

I live in Singapore and have played golf across SE Asia. I also suffer a bit from sweaty hand syndrome, but more so on the driving range than on the course!

I will always use grips witk at least half cord. Currently I'm using golf pride new decade multicompound, which are not bad at all. After each round, I'll always give the grips a quick scrub with some detergent to de-grease them, so they're feeling nice and tacky for the next outing.

I also change gloves pretty regularly on the course. Usually one for the front 9 and one for the back 9 - not a brand new glove, but a dry one! If it's a particularly damp day, I may change it more often - I always carry 3-4 gloves.

I always carry some good, absorbent towels with me and will give my hands a dry before each shot.

Recently, I just started carrying a small bottle of baby powder on the course with me, after reading about it in a golf magazine (one of the pros carries it in his bag). I dust my hands with the powder every few holes and I feel it worked pretty good.

The crossline full cord are awesome in the hot and humid TN summers. I've gone to the range in 100+ heat index where I've had to use 5 gloves because they are completely sweat through, like I dipped them in a tub of water, and the grips never slipped. I have one club I ordered direct from callaway where they didn't offer the Crossline full cord, and just got the standard crossline, and i took one swing with it and it almost flew down the range.

The grips lack "comfort" some might say, but they are very easy to get used to, and you really never need to worry about the club slipping, especially just during a round of golf.

Instead of changing your grips have you thought of using a wet weather golf glove? There are many tochoose from designed specifically for the rainy day, but they work great for humid days as well. Here is one example. I would reccomend getting both a right and a left hand glove.

I love the way the Winns feel and they seem like they'd get stickier and better in the heat and when sweating, but I never wanted to take a chance. Also, how do they hold up? My hunch is that on tour when they can change them out weekly they're great but that they won't have the lasting power of something like a GP cord wrap. What have you found?

I change them at least twice a year when I'm playing quite a bit. it's worth the money to me though for the comfort. I'm not big on cleaning them very often either so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I just wipe them off with a towel

I had the excel AVS on my old set of irons. I haven't swapped my new ones yet but thought about doing that tonight

I use a bowling rosin bag to help with the grip.
Cost 2-4 dollars from any bowling store or order online.

Bigboy put you on a solid choice.

There are a number of great cord grips out there.

The Lamkin Crossline Cords are super...due to the high level of cord exposure and the price is a bit better than some others. They last like no grip I've ever used.

I ordered my PINGS with their corded grips which remind me a lot of the Crossline Cords.

Playing down here you grow to love cords very, very, very quickly. I've got to get the Tour Velvets on my woods & hybrids replaced with cords soon....probably going with the recomended Crossline Cords.

+1 on the full cords. Although I prefer the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord myself. Either way, the cords are a great choice. I've also heard good things about the GP Multi-Compounds (I have yet to try them myself however).

I use the New Decade also, big fan of them. I have heard complaints that they are too rough, but I don't wear a glove and prefer the rough all cord grip.

Dry Hands or Dry Grip and some full cord grips and you are set. living in Florida we deal with heat and humidity practically year round and i have found that using the 2 together works best

You might also want to take a look at Funk'd golf. They are a UK based company that produces tacky golf grips. The more humid the weather and sweatier your hands gap, the better the grip becomes. They are pretty easy to clean and cost about $6 a grip.
