i have disporportionate distances i hit my irons far but when it comes to the driver i cant hit as far as i should be.does anyone know how this could happen??

Was the driver fitted to you? If not, it may mean the shaft is not an efficient choice for your swing and speed.

it may be,how much distance could you lose if it was not fitted?

I tried a friend's Xtra stiff shafted driver and couldn't get it more than 10 feet off the ground or more than 150 yards down the fairway; that was ugly lol.

Right... Wrong shaft, wrong ball, wrong angle of attack, lots of factors. What is your typical ball flight?
In my bag:
- SQ Sumo2 10.5* Driver with stiff shaft
- Rapture 13* 3 Wood
- i3+ Blades
- 52* Gap Wedge- 56* Vokey Sand Wedge- 60* Vokey Lob Wedge- White Hot XG Marxman Mallet with 35" shaft

its semi high and about 10-15 yard draw with my misses being a push fade?

Do you draw your irons like that? You might be losing a little yardage by not hitting it straight.

I am in the same boat as you(not handicap wise ). I hit my hybrids 200-210 and fairway wood 220-230 but the driver only averages about 220-240. I definitely am losing distance somewhere because once in awhile I hit drives in the 250+ range almost to 300 but of course that is a rarity. I attribute it to mostly not hitting the ball in the sweet spot and having bad mechanics. Does your ball balloon?

yes i hit little 3-10 yd draws with irons. And they baloon sometimes not often maybe 1 time in 2 rounds

i recommend going to get fit for driver shaft. Find someone nearby doing say a techvan day or something like that. Someone that would have a trackman on hand to check numbers.

i have same problem:
25*Hybrid - 185- 200 yds
driver - 220 (occassionally 250)

I feel like i should be consistently hitting the big stick 250 if my hybrids going 200 - i'm sure my technique is lacking...

You're definitely not alone, alot of people have a problem hitting their driver much/if any further than their fairway woods/hybrids. It comes and goes for me.

Im willing to bet it's a matter of spinning the ball far too much with the driver. Since you say you're hitting a consistent draw, you may be coming down on the ball steep from the inside and getting a much higher spin rate as a result, meaning less carry and less distance. This would also explain the push fades. If you can, go to a nearby golf store/instructor that has access to a swing analyzer with ball speed and spin information. This will allow you to see if you do in fact have abnormally high ball spin with the driver. Good luck!

How far do you want to hit your driver? Also as I have said in the past and posted picures showing that you have a super steep swing and the only way I figure you can make it work is delofting and lining up right, which you have also said you do in previous post. Anyway that won't hold up with the driver the same way it does with the irons.

Your push happens when you don't get the face shut and your 10-15 yard draw '45 foot draw!' happens when you do.

if the above is correct distances from a previous post, i dont see a problem

Agreed, those distances look right for a pro on the tour.

    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
