Go to a course around that has a wide variety of drivers, and hit them. A couple good options would be: Titleist 907 d1 or d2, Nike SQ Sumo 5000/5900, Callaway Ft-5 (if you look around you'll probably find a good deal), Cobra Speed Pro S and Speed LD, Ping G5, Adams a3 Pro, Mizuno MP-600, Cleveland Hibore XLS, Taylormade Tour Burner or r7 Limited, or r7 460, or '07 Burner, or '09 Burner or maybe the Superquad, Nickent 4DX.

You'll never know until you demo.

The Callaway FT-5 Tour Neutral comes in a 9.5 degree and is $199 at Edwin Watts. The regular version comes in a 9 degree and is also $199 at Edwin Watts. Both come with a Fujikura stock shaft available in a Stiff flex.

I've been playing a FT-5 Tour Neutral 9.5 degree with a Stiff Fujikura Shaft for the last 6 months or so (when the price first came down to $199) and it is unbelievable. Incredibly accurate and great ball flight.

im lookin for a new driver its gotta be a 9.5 or 9* stiff flex and under 200

I'd feel good with any of those three. Beware the TM, though...those shafts are really light...even in stiff flex. I love 'em, but someone who really cranks the clubhead speed may find them a bit whippy.

I went with the one in my sig line....driver and 3 wood for less than two bills. I sometimes wish I had gone with less loft or even the TM Burner driver and 3 wood.

I haven't tried any of the newer models, but the Taylormade Burner is a great club for under $200. My old R5 doesn't even compare. Longer and straighter.

I can't recommend the

Cleveland Hibore enough! It's a fantastic driver. Awesome distance and laser straight on good hits, and acceptable distance and still fairly straight on off hits.....very forgiving of human error.

Check out the R7 Limited...has changed my game.

I'm going to second that. I just bought the R7 Limited last Friday and played a round with it Sunday it is one hell of a driver. I was driving longer and straighter than ever. I hit an absolute missle (slightly low on the face) that ended up 290 yards. I've never hit over 250 with my old Ping G10. It's on sale for $199 at Golf Galaxy.

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
