  1. 1. If you had to choose a single wedge, which would it be?

      18
    • 56 degree wedge
      52
    • 60 degree wedge

Inside of 100 yds I use my 54* TP wedge, I only use my 58 when I'm within 15-20 feet of the green or in a steep greenside bunker. I did flop a ball over a 20 foot tree behind the green once and had the ball stop dead, but for the most part the 58* just rides along working on it's tan

56 degree with a 12 degree bounce allows me to hit the ball about 90 yards and still open up the club face to hit shorter distances or close the club face, further back in my stance and hit it about 100 yards.

56 = 0-100 yards distance club

Didn't see the 50* option in there.

Mine is my 50*.

I can use that club and hit consistently good shots from 50-125 yards.

I've got a 54* SW and I like that one too, but if I only had one wedge to use, it'd be the 50*.

For me its the 52 gap wegde. I can hit ti about 105 and i use it for just about anything. I use my 58 for flop shots and some sand shots but my 52 really does it all. I also think it helps that I have a lot of confidence with it and its been in my bag for 4 years now so I have gotten very used to it.

How many degrees is my ping sand wedge? What are the standard degree configurations for pw, sw, lw?

Depends on what club it is, and whether it is set up standard, or has been adjusted. For example my S58's have a 47° PW, where the i10's have a 46° as standard.

Go to ping.com, look at "irons". If yours isn't in there select "classic irons" (the ping equivalent of an archive). When you select your set it will tell you the lie and loft of all the standard irons. For the record, if I could choose only one wedge, it would be my 58°.

A 54 with 10* of bounce. You can hit it out of the sand, can hit mild flops with it and would be great around the greens. With that being said I play a 52* and 56*... and use the 56 for anything inside 90 yards. But... if I had to choose... I'd play the 52 since the gap between my PW and 56 is just too large.

I actually bought a 50* Cleveland CG14 Black wedge to fill the gap in my TM R7 Draw iron set. The PW is 44*, SW is 54* (came with the set) and the LW is 59* (picked up extra). I couldn't find the AW, which is 49*, so I grabbed the 50* Cleveland and I love it! I really don't see me using the LW or SW that often as I spent hours chipping the last couple weeks with the 50* and was able to stick it close and drop a couple in the cup from about 20-50 yards away.

I have since been able to locate a used R7 Draw AW and they only want $20 for it plus S&H; but I don't think I want to give up my Cleveland.
