Just myself.

I have no idea what my swing looks like and I'm not in a hurry to find out.

Jim Furyk on the putting green. JB Holmes anywhere. Almost anyone on the LPGA Tour.

And yeah, it all has to do with pre-shot routine.

Ben Crane. I understand that he's had back issues but so has Freddy Couples and he does not make it seem like he's lost in some time warp.

Great point. I hate it when on T.V. they switch over to Furyk putting, and he gets over his ball, and then promptly steps back behind it. I hate that!!!

Some represent a variety of odd moves, weird posture or timing I don't want floating around in my head. Furyk, Perry, Milkha Singh and Allenby are among those I avoid watching.

Although I like both Furyk and Perry, I have to agree there. Personally, I like to watch Adam Scott's swing. Much like Tiger's but i feel Scott's is more smooth. Also, love Boo Weekley's swing.

I'm confused how watching a PGA pro swing will effect your swing?

It's kind of hard to explain and it is probably different for other people. I have an imprint in my head of the elements of a golf swing and what I see influences what I tend to do.

Like someone said earlier, I also avoid watching other people on the course who are swinging badly or using some move that might influence me negatively. It's hard to explain, but I can fairly reliably reproduce in my swing what I visualize in my head. This is why I am starting to work seriously on a pre-shot routine that brings more positive images to mind prior to hitting a shot. SubPar

+1

At the masters this year, I almost fell asleep waiting for him to hit an uphill, 10 yard chip/pitch shot on #17. It seemed like he walked around that shot for 15 min.

Not really because of mechanics or anything, but one person I cannot stand to watch is JB Holmes. Mainly because of his putting. My God his caddie has to line him up until the last second? You're a PGA pro dude! If you can't line yourself up by now.....jeez. Just drives me nuts more than anything.

Totally agree.

Another reason why it annoys me watching the LPGA - they all seem to do do it. I really think that some kind of rule has to brought in to stop this nonsense.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Yes.

Wouldn't it be great if young players started copying the pre shot routines of Tom Watson and Seve Ballesteros? I'm not holding my breath.

I don't like Bubba Watson's because whenever I do it makes me want to take the club back waaay past parallel. Bubba along with John Daly.

My alltime avoid is Tom Kite. To this day I automatically click when he's shown on the Senior Tour. I erased my VHS tapes of the '92 US Open at Pebble Beach when he won.

I can't relate to players of that stature, and most of all I can't stand the so-called overachiever types in any sport. There's nothing more boring than that story. It never varies in the slightest. As a Dolphin fan I always know our roster is doomed when we stock it with too many overachiever types. They'll kill you, the great regulator, 8-8 tops. The early '70s teams had very smart and resourceful and skilled guys, like the recent Patriots.

Give me supreme talent. I prefer to follow the fascinating story of players like Tom Weiskopf or Davis Love, struggling with expectation. With the Tom Kites I know what I'm getting and it's incomparably dull.

Otherwise, I don't mind watching Jim Furyk in person but on TV he's insufferable. In '08 and '09 I was surprised that Furyk's putting tendencies made sense when I walked Doral. I saw him studying the green while other players were preparing to play so his continued thoroughness when it was his turn didn't bother me. On TV he stands out as too different and too slow, and the post-miss practice swipes are agonizing. I can't believe the commentators don't call him on that. Johnny Miller said a few months ago, "To anyone out there, don't do that," but it needs to be emphasized every week, to the point it's an embarrassing forced elimination, like Sergio's waggles in '02.

Yeah, I avoid watching the Tiger Woods show.

If youre just beginning the game, there is alot of players that you shouldnt watch. Guys like Jim Furyk, Geoff Ogilvy and Phil Mickelson come to mind. They make so many bad moves in their swings but get away with it because they're so damn talanted. Even for most of us, Tiger isnt somebody we shouldnt be looking at. He makes moves in his swing only he can pull off, and it can screw up your swing by trying to emulatate it.

I believe its because he was injured in some way (not exactly sure) but I throw up a little every time I watch Kenny Perry hit a ball.

Agree with you there. I can watch anyone's swing but I can't stand to watch Holmes' excruciating slow pre-shot routine. I scream at the TV and then my wife gets mad at me.

Kevin Na is another one. Watching him at the Players this year was painful. I thought it was funny, Cabrera got so tired of waiting for him, he would just leave him and walk to the next tee.

I hate watching Jim Furyk. That guy backs away from his ball more than anyone I know.
