How many players use the 460cc drivers? I have a 460 big bertha and cant hit it very well. I use a old driver thats not any bigger than a fairway wood and strike it much ,much better. Any thoughts

I too use a 460cc Big Bertha, and have no trouble with it. Was your club fitted to you? it could just as much be the shaft as the head causing you trouble...

I haven't found a big driver that I like yet either. I am still using my old 385cc driver from 6 years ago. I still hit it great, so I really have no reason to switch.

Ive got a new 460 cc driver but I dont hit it very consistently straight. I've been using my 3 wood lately a lot to tee off with and hit it just about as far and much straighter, sometimes ill even use my 3 hybrid on shorter par 4's or holes with a narrow fairway as im comfortable hitting it and can get a consistent 200+ yards with it. Its whatever you can hit, if an older driver works better for you, then go with that. I havent played long enough to have had one of the smaller drivers so I dont know how I'd hit one of those.

I play a Callaway x460, but recently have hit a few smaller drivers and kind of prefer the feel. I picked up a Biggest Big Bertha recently for cheap that I'll try, it's not a small head driver, but it's quite a bit smaller then the 460s.

I have a TM 460 burner and hit it very well. My all time vavorite driver is my old Callaway BB warbird 11*. For those wanting a smaller headed driver you just can't beat it. Very forgiving and staight. You can get them on ebay for $30 to $40 or so.

I have a Titleist 907D1 and TM Tour Burner (both 460cc), and I hit them both pretty well. The Titleist is straighter, but the TM is longer. I have an old TM r580 that feels good and hits well, but it isn't as straight or as long as the Titleist. Some people feel like they can't get used to the big driver head, but it is no trouble for me. I much prefer it to the smaller ones. Tee the ball high and try to hit the ball on the upper part of the face, just barely above the middle. It will launch it high without too much backspin.

It's an amazing driver and I never heard a driver that sounds better on pure contact. I just recently upgraded from that driver with a Cleveland Launcher 10.5. But man, that Warbird was amazing.

I had a steel shaft and everything on it. Amazing driver to this day. I remember when they came out when I was a kid and my old man got one. It looked so insanely huge at the time compared to the persimmons. And now it looks like a slightly large faced 3-wood, lol. Of course, like most of his old gear from the early 90's, I inherited it and used it the last couple years. That driver is great and I take it to the range from time to time still just to hear it. WHA-PINGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

I have a FT-5 I just started playing a couple months ago that I'm having trouble with as well. I would still hit my R510 (330cc) if the head wasn't coming off the shaft.

I have absolutely zero confidence with a smaller headed driver. I can't put a finger on why, though.

I have been comfortably hitting a much smaller driver and been hitting it well. I also feel comfortable staring down at a 460 head but have not yet won the lotto in order to buy one. I have wondered whether or not bigger is really better and how much it would help my game out. I was thinking of trying out some 400 drivers but with the way I hit my driver right now, it might end up being the last club I upgrade.

It's really not the head volume that bothers me, it's the way the head is shaped and sets up. I prefer a compact head. If it's 380, that's fine, if they can configure a 460 to look compact, that's great as well. Don't get hung up on the head size, many tour drivers are still around 380 - 400cc. The 460's are able to move the weight around more, which helps them add forgiveness.

I love my 460cc driver and if i was to get another one i would go with 460.
Probably because it is so forgiving and has a large sweet spot.

I made the transition to my 905R (460CC) from a 975 J-VS which had a 312CC head.

I bought a new driver because i cracked the face on my 975 at the range one night (don't know how since I didn't hit the ball very hard back then) and it was not the easiest club to hit at first. I hit everything from a banana slice to a huge pull hook. I don't remember how long it took me to adjust, but now i hit it pretty straight almost everytime.

I will go against the tide here, I play a Hi-bore XLS, 460 cc, and funny shaped to boot, and absolutely drill it down the middle. I'm not a long hitter, about 240, but love the new technology in clubs, as the Hi-bore is the straightest driver I have owned.

I use a 10 year-old 300cc driver and a pretty old 220cc 3-wood. On the driving range lately, I've been hitting my 3-wood just as far as the dudes with the giant drivers. And straight, too. (Been working on some things in my swing to add distance.)

Every time I pick up one of the newer drivers, it feels...unnatural? I may look for a newer driver than the one I have...maybe 360-380cc.

I love using big square drivers, it helps me alot because I can concentrate on my swing more instead of looking at the ball at all times to hit it

Just replaced my 15 yr old off-brand driver with a 460cc square head. Hopefully I can hit it some this afternoon and be one of the success stories, bragging about adding 50 yards and straightening my drive.
