To me, the hockey player story just shows that most people have no idea what it really takes to shoot 2 under. It is the same way when you hear people say, "Oh I usually hit my drives 290-300." They have no clue what a 300 yard drive looks like or what it takes to get it there. It's not that they are lying, it is that they truly believe they do it because they have never checked the yardage.

Adding to what you said about people like the story teller not knowing what it takes to shoot under par: the guy stated the hockey player would have shot lower if he could have putted at all well! That is exhibit A that the storyteller believes that all you have to do to play scratch golf is hit 300 yard drives. We all know that most amateur golfers who shoot 2 under usually do so because they chip and putt like nobody's business.

I played once with an 89 year old former bowler who was golfing for his first time. He had to keep one hand on his walker, but he would swing the club with the other hand and hit 325+ yard drives right down the middle of the fairway. (I am not sure if it was a rule violation for him to be up there with his walker. Personally, I think it gave him an unfair aiming advantage.) Anyway, when he would putt, he would put on one of those bowling wrist devices and hook that ball right into the 1-3 pocket for a birdie almost every time. Anyway, when we were done, we added up his score and it was

ain't that the damn truth. last year I ended as a 7.1. This year I'm back to the high 9's... even after shooting consecutive rounds at:

74, 76,76,75 & 79

Swing videos, or it never happened.

I am not sure what swing videos will do? I know lots of single diget handicappers with UGLY swings but they know what to expect from there swing and they are great 100 yards in.

For the record, I find this story hard to believe, but wing video won't disprove it.

Good point. My idea, not well stated, was for video of every stroke - including ball flight - for 5 rounds say (consecutive). Difficult to defeat that. If I had that taken of me, my 'cap would be evident.

You're honestly asking the guy to show a video of him golfing for 5 rounds so you can see EVERY single swing? WOW. You'd be lucky to find 5 rounds of Tiger's EVERY swing on video.

Wow I knew I would get flack for posting my story... but it didnt know the amount of trolling in here.

I cant say that I shoot under par often. But I have. I've shot under par maybe 5 times in my life. Had little to do with chipping more with getting the ball close to the pin and sinking the putts. But that has just been me. However, my game is streaky.

I'm pretty certain that the vast majority of people here think you're the troll. Your story is simply unbelievable, particularly with the "it would have been better if he could have putted" part. And I don't think people saying "I don't believe it" are "trolling." They're just saying they don't believe it.
