I use the zero friction as well, because they don't break. I don't believe they make any difference as far as distance. I hit balls at a range with grass tees, so I can go through quite a few wooden tees in a session, the zero friction hold up through several buckets of balls and reduce the need to dig in the bag after every dozen shots.

For me, the zero friction tees hook. I don't know what it is, so I use wooden, might have to retry, I saw a zero friction but it had 6 pegs instead of 3, might try that

So 35 Zero friction tees last longer than 100 wooden tee's?

Unless you're playing on cement (in which case both will last about the same - one hole), heck yes.

And Epochs are of the same variety, but a little thicker. Some people prefer those. Epochs used to break like crazy, but they reformulated and they work great now.

That's only if you use them because you think they give you yardage.

Wooden tees are cheaper for me. I haven't bought a tee of any kind in at least 20 years. Some courses actually give wood tees to you when you play there, but most of the time I find all I need just lying around on the tee boxes waiting to be picked up. I finish most rounds with more in my pocket than I started with.

I used plain old wooden tee's.

Zero friction... they now make a shorter model I have used for FW. But (sheepishly) I like he blue Brush tee for my 3w. It just is exactly the right height for me, always.

I've tried the Zero Frictions and the Brush-Ts but they both suck. The ZFs get all deformed and they bend so sometimes I can't get them into the concrete tee boxes at some courses. And the only Brush-T I used, a section of the bristles broke on the first hit, so the ball wouldn't stay up.

I thought i would like the brushts but theres just something about them, old fas ts suck and break like crazy, so i use zero friction ts cause they dont break and i spend alot time at the driving range that is a real field with no built in ts

I break zero friction tees all the time. Maybe it's because my home course is terrible and the tee boxes are practically cement.
I dont notice a performance gain either.

I use the zero friction tees, but only because they dont break. I can go a whole round with only one tee, with old wooden tees I go through like 12.

+1 to zero friction tees. They last forever.

    • Day 185 - 2025-04-03 Had a good 2.5 hour session at Golf Evolution. Kinda glad it was still wet and windy out today as I wouldn't have gotten such a good session in if I played. Got up to 93 MPH (with a pause) on my 6I and 130 MPH ball speed (on a different slightly slower hit, a bit more de-lofted than I'll want eventually).
    • I'm highly probable for the entire weekend, thanks for doing the hard work to set it up.  I can't wait for more details.
    • I take 2nd, is a confirmation that you can eventually win your major and also is good material for having a laugh about it in the distant future.
    • I'm a relatively new golfer (<5 years) in my mid-thirties. So far I've spent most of my time and money on lessons and actually golfing. I'm currently a 90s-100s player, but hope to break into the 80s with lessons and practice. I'm definitely not of the mindset that flashy expensive clubs will help me play better...I try to make the assumption that my equipment is more capable than I am. That said, I do know that realistically that threshold does exist somewhere. I just have no idea where. At what point should I consider an upgrade from starter clubs to something I can grow into and improve with?  My stuff: Starter set (Callaway Strata) from Amazon. (3w, 5h, 9i-PW) Gently used Cleveland Wedges (LW, SW, GW) - My old ones were from a set from the late 90s, so I did upgrade these. Gently used TaylorMade M1 driver - The starter set driver had a regular flex, and I had several knowledgeable people tell me I should have a stiff flex Thanks in advance!
    • Looking forward to this movie, it checks all the boxes for me. Indie Movie True Story Cast is all great character actors Walton Goggins! No Whammies!!!!!!!!!
