I recently bought the Sabre Tooth putter - the one Rocco Mediate made famous with his close tournament against Tiger Woods.

I just picked that putter up too after hitting about 25 of them over a few days. I really like it as well. And the price is good. I've noticed an immediate improvement, but then my previous putter was trash. I've had Odyssey putters in the past and did well. I got one used that was from the late '80's and did well until I lost it somehow. This Sabertooth is pretty great as well. The thing putts itself!

To the OP, But a Scotty putter if you're very comfortable with your putting and don't plan on changing styles or anything anytime soon. That Scotty can be a 15-20 year investment making it worth the money. But if you plan on trying different things and are still experimenting, maybe try something less expensive. There are a lot more used Odyssey putters than Cameron ones.

Man, where did you get a deal like that???

The Austads next to work is closing so they have everything at major markdowns. $225 is a pretty sweet deal on a Scotty, I couldn't pass that up.

That's awesome! Good find! While I never hope that any of the local shops go out of business, a good price like that would definitely get me much closer to buying one.

Check out the Cleveland Classic series (

I was going to suggest the same. A great bargain.

I've gamed numerous Odyessys and Scottys as well as a bunch of others. It comes down to what is working with your current set up and stroke. Right now I couldn't be happier with my flatstick. I trully love this wand and am finally gettting setttled in on my putting stroke. I currently have a match. If you go Scotty.....give the Circa '62 series a try, too. They are carbon steel and coated for "weatherability" and feel sublime. The ball clicks off the face and gives super feedback. The Studio Select series offers the best "weatherability" and adjustablity of the Scotty line, and feel is very good as well. All that being said......do not forget to look at the complete line of PING putters. They are making some real gems, too.

it all depends on if you like the insert or if you want a milled face. As long as you like how it looks and feels and it blends well with your stroke, it's a good putter.

This decision really boils down to you. What your preferences are and how they feel in your hands. I started the year with a White Hot Tour #2 but just couldn't get used to the feel of the insert. I'd never had an insert putter before so it was worth a try.

Same here I could not getused to the insert on my White Hot XG #2 and went back to my scotty.

From the sound of it since I like blades I'm going to roll with the scotty, so the search begins!

ping redwood series, 50$ less than scotty's, and you dont turn into a pompous arrogant jackass that drinks stella artois. (yeah you scotty users, that was for you)

pings redwood series is WAY more customizable than the scottys, you can get it made for you, and not just have to settle for what scotty cameron sends out of his now mass produced shop.

Putters are like women to me. I've liked and tried alot, but everyone has to find the one perfect match for them. And some of us like to have a couple around so we always have a choice.

BTW, I love my 2-ball and feel you get more for your money out of the Odyssey's over the Scotty's but if you game the Scotty better, save your pennies and get one.

hahahaah, you love your 2-ball? So if putters are like girls, then are you trying to say one of your ladies has 2 balls?

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
