He hit an 8. Of course that's Harrington losing it. It wasn't like Harrington did well but Woods bettered it. Harrington simply messed up on this occasion.

Why is every so defensive to Woods? Fantastic player but he didn't need to be fantastic to make what just happened happen.

W had some good theater this afternoon. I started consistently watching golf about 10 yrs ago mainly because of Tiger. I've watch a decent amount of Tiger-less golf the past 2-3 yrs since I've began playing. All things being equal, I'm starting to notice that the tv announcers create much more drama with Tiger in the final mix than when he's not. I know Tiger has an on-course charisma and unmatched talent which make him a draw for people to watch but the "extra" announcing add to it some.

it is plainly obvious that if tiger doesnt knock his shot stiff, paddy doesnt make 8! why do people have to find sort of excuses as to why Tiger wins rather than just accepting that he was the best player for the week!

Exactly. People think that Woods had some impact there when it was really just Harrington overclubbing three times in a row.

no reason at all for him to play that shot into the last but he does it anyway for two reasons:

1. because he is just a phenominal golfer
2. because there was no pressure on him for that shot, unlike paddy on 16

This sequence of approach shots on 18 is quessential Tiger: pouring it on and the opponent sort of wilts.

**Question: what were the potential consequences when the tourney officials put Tiger and Paddy on the clock to start the 16th?

A shame that Padraig has contrived to lose it rather than Woods earning it.

Who's to say if Paddy makes par Tiger still doesn't win it? He beat Paddy by four - Padraig made a triple. So Tiger still "wins it" if Paddy makes par.

How quickly everyone forgets he shot 30 on the front to put himself in contention, how much more do u want from the guy

Wow, that shot on 16 is one of the best of all time. Sealed the deal no matter what was going to happen I think.

Felt bad for Harrington because he's one of my favorites and it killed a great duel. They were going back and forth in what looked to be a classic slug fest. And then the bottom dropped out. Classic though, Woods hits the impossible shot and the opponent just crumbles.

All in all a great tournament!

That Woods kid might be OK at golf.
