This is my first viewing of any forum I visit in a while. I've been doing a lot lately:

* Graduated in mid June
* Got a job offer in late July
* Moved from the Sacramento area to the Dallas area the Saturday before last
* Started work last Monday
* Been busy unpacking, getting power set up, Internet access, etc
* Planned my wedding for late September, and am helping my finance put together the plans for it

So the past two weeks have been very busy, but all the stress is not without immediate payoff. One plus side is that golf supplies are near-by. Where I used to live the closest major golf outlet was a Golf Galaxy about an 1hr 10min drive away. But I now I have two PGA Superstores and two Dicks Sporting Goods within a 30 minute drive (the closest PGAS and Dicks are both about 10 minutes away).

At first I was afraid that the PGA Superstores would be overpriced, but the prices seem reasonable, on par with what I saw at Golf Galaxy.

If only the quality of my game warranted the purchase of newer/better equipment. I did, however, get an inexpensive pullcart, and I plan to get a new bag to replace my current 3-pocket bag. I'll probably try to get the bag during the upcoming tax-free weekend.

after getting married a year ago, I realized this man has the right idea.

Being single is all about doing exactly what you want to do ALL the time. Being married is always about comprimise, except it seems like I am the only one who has to comprimise.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Sometimes it seems staying out of relationships is tougher than staying in.

Was married, kids are 20 yo and up, now its about saving for retirement, traveling, and playing as much golf as I can before its dirt nap time.

Definitely sure I want to be married. There's even a chance she will golf some with me.

I still haven't had time to check out the local golf course where I will likely play the bulk of my golf. I really want/need to do that.

Enjoy it all.

Things will really calm down after the wedding....those things will drive you, your fiance, her parents, your parents, everyone bonkers.

Afterwards things will slow down and you'll really be able to get some great golfing in.

I understand what you mean about golf stores. I once lived in an area that had very, very limited golf supplies. We basically filled our bags from the course pro shops...this can get pricey, though.

Now, I'm fortunate to have two excellent golf stores and many sporting goods and a great course pro shop. It sure makes it easier.

As a math major, I feel obligated to point out that you have an interesting handicap index.
