What's are those nasty cuts on your shoulder? (Golf it's contact sport)

What's are those nasty-looking cuts on your shoulder? asked my wife as I was preparing the barbecue after a round of golf.

It took me a while to put it all together. Sure there was the vague memory of recent abrasive physical contact, but it hadn't seemed like anything at the time.

How could it. After executing a limbo dance razor's edge low/back-foot punch out 7 iron between a narrow corridor of trees back onto the fairway, the endorphins must have kicked in. The road rash the tree gave me as I backed carelessly out of my stance, kind of reminded me golf can be a contact sport, but it was all forgotten before the next shot was even attempted. Who turned the sprinklers on ?

You ever get contact sport injuries from trees, gopher holes, rakes, other clubs, on a golf course? I bet I'm not the only one. (Should we wear a cup?

Only time I've ever injured myself on a golf course was around a sand bunker. Somehow, the rake was stuck in the ground, and when I tripped on it, it didn't give and I rolled my ankle pretty bad. Couldn't walk on it for a few days.

That was more my fault for tripping over it, but I still dunno how someone stuck that thing in the ground so hard.

I came pretty close to hitting myself in the head. Ball in bunker, hits lip bounces back towards me. I swear time slowed down and I was able to do the matrix move to avoid the ball.

Almost been whacked with a driver (because its the longest club) many times at the driving range due to being a lefty, i'm back to back to righties. My friend almost took my head off the other day, I felt the breeze as it passed right by my face.

Reminds me of some close calls with hard rebounds off trees.

we were the 1st ones on the course as it was opening in the spring
temp. greens and water still in the bunkers
on this one hole, there was still snow around a great big puddle
it was only like 9º out (celcius)

i went to jump over the "puddle" and slipped on the snow...my feet literally went ABOVE my head and i landed on my back ON my bag
i was laughing too hard to even care how much it friggen hurt or the fact that i broke my driver AND putter shaft
looked like something right out of a bugs bunny cartoon
