Everyone,

I just installed a UST Proforce V2 stiff shaft (model number 6060 (66g, 3.0T,) on my Adams Speedline 10.5*. I hit it at the range today and I have to say I didn't hit one straight (mostly pull hooks). I am 6'2" 225 lbs and have a swing speed between 105 and 116 depending on how loose I am (tempo is average, moderate loading). The V2 felt quite whippy and I hit a lot of ballooning shots with it as well (very high)... Its funny that I hit the ball high, because I installed the UST V2 replacing the OEM Grafalloy ProLaunch Axis Blue Stiff (high launch). I hit the Axis lower than the V2? I am totally at a loss for reshafting this club. I am looking for a responsive shaft. One I can feel the club head, low torque (<3.2), that doesn't feel boardy. Any suggestions (including stiffness)?

You have no business hitting a stiff shaft with that kind of swing speed... seriously.... if you are even near 105-115 ... you should think about X-XX.

Any suggestions. I was thinking Graphite Design YS-6+ X flex, what do you think?

Diamana Whiteboard will give you a low launch... if you want a really inexpensive shaft... the Graphite Desing Aura Red would work also.

In replacing the UST V2 stiff. How about the UST v2 X flex 65g, Graphite Design Pershing X 65g, or Grahite Design ys-6+ X.

I have only hit the V2... both versions launch high if you ask me.

I agree, does launch high ( I do have a 10.5* driver though)

I think I'm gonna try the Pershing (price is right). Unless some people here can tell me why not to buy it

i too wanted the Diamana WB, but chose the GD Aura RED

really like this shaft very responsive and a highly underrated shaft - and the best part..its cheap! i have a swing speed between 102-108mph and hit the stiff, not the X i also had the V2, but heavier @ 77g and 2.1* of torque - was too stiff for me try the GD RED

Opposite of my experience and the given specs: ProForce v2 is a low/mid launch shaft.

I also disagree, in general, with an XX flex for a 105-115 MPH and even an X flex at all but 112-115 consistently. But everyone's swing, rhythm, clubhead, tempo, ball position, etc. is different.

I have used a stiff shaft as long as I can remember, I don't have distance problems I have dispersion problems, mostly on the back nine when I am loose. Thats why I originally bought the UST V2 stiff. I thought with the lower torque (3.0) I would keep the ball in play. I found a very bendy, high launch (a lot higher than expected) shaft that I couldn't keep straight (I'm a straight ball hitter, maybe a 5 yd fade, V2 20-30yds left (heavy draw). Distance was great though.

I am back in deciding GD Pershing, YS 6(+), or Aura Red. Any other shafts (under $65, pulls ok). Stiff or X-Stiff? Again SS 105-116

Do you think you are on the verge of needing the X flex with the GD Aura Red? Or does the stiff have more to offer with your SS

i may be on the verge of needing a stiffer shaft - true but I rarely miss left (hook) i used to use a Reg shaft until this year i have a very smooth, tempoed swing (so i have been told) i have also read and been told to use the weakest shaft that you can get away with so without knowing your game or swing, its tough for me to tell but i will compare the two for you, as i have played them both UST PF V2 77g~2.1* torque *it played VERY stiff for me *the weight and super low torue, stiffened up the tip a tonne *it did bring my ball flight down, but felt boardy - i didnt get that PURE feeling out of it *i do beleive they are a great shaft for the $$, but didnt suit my game GD AURA Red (specs in sig.) *still a stiff shaft but feels very smooth *it has a high kickpoint, a lower torque and produces low spin and low ball flight *i really feel it compares to the Diamana WB, as the specs are almost identical *the price point is awesome, only at $74 or so *when I miss, or leak one, its right (slight fade) * i find this shaft helps produce less ball spin and it has a perfect ball flight (mid or so) i have a launch angle around 12.5-13, so its a little high, but this shaft helps keep it mid now i have also switched to the Bridgestone Tour B-330 RX ball i think between these balls and the shaft i have found the perfect combo i have struggled all year off the T, switching out shafts, balls etc. the last 3 rounds, I have averaged 85% driver accuracy for me this is huge to be out there 275-ish and IN PLAY - i have also posted some of my best rounds all year and when i go at it, it still holds strong and will help keep me in play - it doesnt feel too weak at all for me my opinion - if you have $$, go w the Diamana WB if u have a budget or are a cheap basterd like me, try out the AURA RED i have always like what GD has produced stiff or x-stiff??? sorry bro up to you - i think you would be ok w a stiff, but hey its only speculation good luck!

I'm a cheap bastard!!!! haha

I appreciate the detailed response. I am tempted to try the Aura red, however I am hesitant with the Low Launch. It looks like the GD Pershing is the shaft I am gonna try next Low/Mid launch and cheaper yet. Hey if it doesn't work, I'll get the Aura Red and you can 'I told ya so'. I'll keep ya posted, again, thanks for the help PS I switched to the B330-S what a great ball

I agree. Everyone's swing is different and just because someone has a swing speed of X, doesn't meant they fall into a specific category of stiffness. My swing speed is 110-112 average (according to trackman) and I just don't feel like an x-stiff shaft fits my swing. I've tried a couple and they just leave me feeling as though I really have to rip at it to get a good ball flight. I would much rather take something not as stiff and make a smoother swing.

Um, I would never think about xx unless the person is in Long drive or can swing like this.

Don't know why youtube isn't working.

Well,,, I settled on the Graphite Design Pershing 75 Stiff, I receive it Tuesday.

I played today and hit the V2 again. I have to say I hit it pretty well. Mostly straight and easy Long. It still feels a little soft when I want to get on it, so the GD coming this week should still be a good move

    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
