Lob wedge or Not?

I currently have 13 clubs in my bag and am looking for a 14th. I was looking at a lob wedge (Vokey SM or CG14) Could anyone tell me the advantages (or disadvantages) of getting a lob wedge.
My short game is pretty good and the primary use will be 40 yards and in.

If your short game is good, why not add a club that could possibly make it even better. I love my lob wedge.

It makes hitting high lofted shots easier and hitting short shots easier.

Id add a 50* or 52* instead of a 60*. A lob wedge is difficult to hit well and unless you have a really, really good swing you wont be able to hit it consisently.
Ive got a 60* and its great when you hit it well, but I hit just as many horrible shots with it as a do good shots. Im likely going to replace it with a 56* soon for that reason.

He already has a 50* and adding a 60* to me would make perfect sense.

Now its down to what kind. I love the cleveland gapper i have but i have heard tremendous things about a vokey. Which would you all prefer?

personally i would get a Cleveland CG15. but you cant go wrong with a Vokey either.

What makes a 60 so hard to hit? I have heard this a lot before on here and am unsure why.

Are you talking about on full shots or trying to chip with it?

I play a 58 and a 64 and they are probably my two strongest clubs. As you can see I am a high handicapper and have never broke 89 in a round before.

cant really make a judgment on that alone though, this is the internet.... and on the whole vokey v. cleveland debate that will continue on for years to come, you kinda just need to get out and demo the clubs, noone can really tell you more than you could get off the manufacturer's website through a computer.

I used to have 52 / 56 / 60 wedges, all at the same lenght, so I can do the exact same swing around the green and only let the club face / loft make the job...

The 60° can be a little bit hard to play on short lies...

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
