I hit their hybrid at demo day last week. I thought I'd hate it. I was surprised to find I actually liked it. Nice boring shot. Doubt I'll by one though.

I bought the 3 hybrid w/20 degree loft, R shaft. Budgetgolf.com had it as a weekly special. I have been hitting it at a local indoor (nets) range, and it's true. I love this club. I'm going to get the 4 and 5 hybrids and a 3 wood from budgetgolf.com. The price is right.

The face thickness on the fairway woods and hybrids is a mere 1.6 mm

It will be interesting to see how durable the FW and H models are. If 6-foot-2 high schoolers can cave in the face of a standard non-PB driver (3 mm. thickness range), it will be interesting to see how a 1.6 mm. lasts.

Possible saving grace: Does the nitrogen fill push back outward against the impact on the clubface?

Focus, connect and follow through!

Yes, it does, that's why the face can be so thin. However, a club face can only have a COR of 0.83, so how far this technology can go is minimal, probably non existent. Manufacturers already make all their heads right on the limit of 0.83, so most of the marketing hype is just that. A stock driver from Titleist, TaylorMade, Adams, Cleveland, or any other brand will have the exact same COR as the PowerBilt. Why people buy into the idea that one driver may hit it farther than another, I will never know. The USGA limits all the key features that make drivers long, forgiving, and large. Any driver can only have a COR of 0.83, a MOI of 5900, a head volume of 460 cubic centimeters, and a shaft length of 48". So far, the COR, MOI, and head volume limits have all been reached, and most people already use a shaft that's too long for them to control. So, basically, it's now a contest to make the best looking, best sounding driver.

Took my new Air Force One driver to the range yesterday.....

Only hit about 30 balls, but seemed to dial it in. I was also trying my new RX sunglasses with progressive lenses.

The drives were long and straight!

I hear the new Oakleys increase clubhead speed by 15% and are really forgiving.

LOL!......I didn't have Rx sunglasses.......I just had RX progressives with the Transition change.....and for Florida they never got dark enough. The new sunglasses are Wiley X and have a wrap around lens....kinda made the teed ball look farther away......it actually took several setups to get it in the groove. That's why i went to the range....I'll be on the links tomorrow for the real test.

If I get a measurable increase in clubhead speed with the Rx sunglasses I'll let you know.

Measured my Powerbilt Air Foil drives today with my gps.....

My Cobra 11.5* L5V normally got me 205.

The Powerbilt got...228; 230; 232 and then 242!.....how about that?.....Par 5 with a cross wind and I got 242 down the middle.

I was simply amazed......

Don't be offended - maybe the the guy just prefers his new Powerbilt.

The Cobra L5V is 11.5*

When I went from the Cobra LD M Speed Offset, to the L5V, I lost a little yardage, but gained in accuracy, hitting the middle of the fairways more often....I was using the offsets as I shattered my left wrist about 12 yrs ago and required 4 surgeries to put it back together. I needed the offset to get the club square.....until about 1 year ago when the offset kept putting me in the trees on the left side. that's when I got the L5V so I could adjust the club face when needed. As I worked out of the 1* closed position I was only hitting it at neutral, but my distance was only 200-205.

New update, yesterday, I got 230 & 240, with 251 out of it with a cross wind.

I think it will stay in my bag.

My PowerBilt Air Foil irons arrived, 4 thru PW hollow Nitrogen charged plus SW cavity back ........played two rounds with them last week, then played a two day tournament this weekend.....They set up like Callaway Fusions......Accuracy and GIR's were way up from my Callaway Fusions.... I scored at least one birdie each round.....thanks to the accuracy of the irons.....the 7 iron was deadly accurate from 145-150 yds......slight increase in distance, but they really feel great and I am much more accurate.....got 230, 235 & 240 from the Driver again.

9th Place out of 28 players....as i said before PowerBilt is back......if they can only figure out how to market them correctly. I finally sat through the infomercial and from my viewpoint, it comes across as a gimmick. BUT, in reality, they are performing!

Here they are:... https://www.powerbilt.com/cart/index.../irons-n7.html

Just imagine how low you could go with the awesome power of nitrogen on your side.

The apparent distance losses would be worth the increased accuracy. Nitrogen!

It could be the first time we ever hear Fehrety say, "Well Vern, looks like he's getting out the gas cylinder. His 5 iron, if you recall, deflated on 9 after he hit a tree root in his downswing."
