So I live in Southwestern Virginia and we have received 28 inches of snow over the past 2 months. Another 1-2 FEET are projected to fall this weekend. The following weekend, another storm is also projected to blanket the area with MORE FREAKIN SNOW!

The closest thing to golf in my future is this forum. And it's killing me!!!

Does anyone else feel my pain?!?

I'd heard the east coast was getting hit hard this winter. Here in the midwest (Indiana) we've had some snow but it's been very manageable. I expect I'll be able to start playing again in March if I really want to.

I live in eastern Ky and the snow is about to take it's toll on me. I can't wait for the spring months to roll around. This past weekend we got a lot of snow, around 10-11" enough to totally wreck my home course and even after it melts the course will be a mess. I'm about to go crazy. So, yes, I definately feel your pain.

count me if i'm wrong but...i live on the eastern side of the appalachians (sp?) and i get the feeling those of you on the western side have been tattooed by storms were we've really only had rain, some small snow storms and bitter cold...this the overall consensus? either way, spring can't come soon enough...looks like golfin in the end of march will be the earliest for us.

Definatly the worst winter up here in the north east that i can remember. Ive probably only played or gone to the range less than 10 times combined since the end of october. More snow is predicted up here over the weekend too. Al Gore needs to fix this crap..

I was playing until last week, when the weather turned ugly here as well, and dumped a couple inches of ice on us. I was looking forward to hitting the course this weekend, but they're calling for rain/snow mix on Saturday, so that's out.

i can't even imagine. we've gotten probably a combined 3 in. here in N texas out of 3 days of snow. however, none of it ever stuck cause it was 65* the day before. relatively speaking, we've had a lot of snow, and it's been a pretty cold winter. but really, the only time i see snow is when i go up to colorado to hit the slopes every couple years.

I'm golfing Saturday in a Chili Open. The course has huge heaters that they drive around to melt the snow and ice in the tee boxes, fairways, greens, sand traps, and the rough around the fairways and greens. Should be really fun.

Other than that probably won't have a chance to get out for a while. I'm just hoping all the snow is gone by March 1st(hopefully earlier).

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

I haven't played outside golf since september, and the courses won't open until may. I am taking a trip to Spain in March to play for a week, but it's impossible here now.

Luckily we've got a simulator at the oil rig where I work, so I can play whenever I'm at work.

Welcome to my world!! I Love NE Wisconsin ... except for the snow, and the cold ... wonder if my mom still has a spare bed in her condo in TN? Heck - I hear it's been cold there too!!

Yeah Sure. LOL You pay for my round at Sawgrass one weekend and that will include room and food. I would say other than travel expenses the extra $350 would be worth it!

Well if your here for Friday and Saturday night, we could do pizza one night, then something better the second night (outback, hooters, or w/e). You just pay for your round and my round at Sawgrass? I have to look, but last time I checked it was somewhere in the range of $300-$350 per player before noon. Free transportation around Jax, free room with bed and shower, free food.....I have to run this by the girlfriend though before I start selling away our extra bedroom for a round at Sawgrass lol

I wouldnt say its the best deal, but if you really want to play there and get out of the cold for the weekend.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
