I can not wait to work with this some but the weather will not let up. In the middle of another storm now. Hopefully it will help. I hope to add it to my preshot routine so it will be ingrained as part of every shot.

It doesn't necessarily de-loft the clubface. Pay attention to the parts of this video that relate handle position to loft.

i like this video. my irons have been great but i really need to get the driver working...

I think many golfers misrepresent this idea. The your hands should be slighty ahead of the clubhead on full swings with any club, with the shaft leaning away from target. The clubs are designed to be adressed that way. Some golfers vary but i think its the general rule. I know a solid player who likes to have his shaft lean forward, but he has to make a compensation to get the club back into position for a solid strike. It puts a timing element into the swing i just would rather not deal with.

With the driver, it may not look like the hands are ahead of the club, but if you addressed correctly they probably are. You wont de-loft a driver by having your hands ahead, either. Ive seen people misunderstand this idea and press their hands so far forward that they are practically hooding the club at address.

    • Nothing exposes low point control, and for that matter the general quality of ball striking like tight lies. Lol! I am at a crossroad. My days of playing with a super strong left hand grip are coming to an end it seems. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to maintain proper face control through impact as the club face naturally wants to turn over. The quality of strike and ball flight difference when I weaken the grip is stark. Problem is a weaker grip is at odds with my poor sore left forearm which I have been nursing for last few days after 3 days of demanding golf. As of now I will continue my 'transition' to a weaker grip with woods and hopefully my forearm will condition as I go along. Maybe someday I'll get to a normal address with irons too.
