I voted yes...have always liked the way he goes about his business and chugs along. After yesterday I think he has a little bit of a spring in his step to the start of this year. Seems like all he needs at times is a bit of confidence and he starts doing things right again.

In my Titleist 2014 9.5" Staff bag:

Cobra Bio+ 9* Matrix White Tie X  - Taylormade SLDR 15* ATTAS 80X - Titleist 910H 19* ATTAS 100X - Taylormade '13 TP MC 4-PW PX 6.5 - Vokey TVD M 50* DG TI X100 - Vokey SM4 55 / Vokey SM5 60* DG TI S400 - Piretti Potenza II 365g

Yes he can putt lights out.

I agree. The guy can flat out putt. However, so could Brad Faxon. Major Champs have always putted well enough to win the tournaments, but its putting together four perfect rounds, driving, iron play, scrambling, and putting. He'll need to do more than just putt well. He'll have to play perfectly. He has the ability and although I don't know him, he sure seems like a great man, and worthy of a Major title.

I'm surprised at the current vote, nearly 2/1 Yes.

Anyone besides Tiger should be No as favorite. Four chances drift away more quickly than you imagine. Most likely he won't factor in at least two of them, which leaves only one or two chances. If he were 33 with current form, I could understand optimism. At 43, reality tends to get in the way. There's an extra decade of reasons it hasn't happened to date, and those variables tend to show up again in crunch time.

The sportsbooks always try to tempt with props like this. I remember I nearly took 5/2 on Ernie Els winning a major in 1995, after his breakout year of 1994. Imperial Palace had that number up. Luckily I stayed away, primarily because of his age, mid 20s. Had I made the bet, I would have been sick when he blew the PGA at Riviera, the one in which Elkington defeated Monty in a playoff.

Stricker wins at Riviera, goes to No. 2 in world

He should just melt his clubs down, retire, and take up shuffleboard with that quitter mentality.

Don't forget that he's pretty stellar with a wedge in his hand as well. I understand that he may not be as mentally tough as people would like, however I think he has the game to get it done. Just like any player he needs a week for it to be clicking.

I think it's tough to be top five in the world and not have what it takes to win a major.

I voted no, only because as good as a putter as everyone says/thinks he is, he just doesn't strike me as having the whole package to win the big one.

I voted no. He's been shaky with the lead on Sundays before in a non major, I just can't see him finishing off the big one. I hope I'm wrong though as I'd love to see him get one. He's playing great.

I think he is playing well and he has the games to win the majors. But like some of you said, he could be shaky with the lead and I am just not sure if he is mentally tough enough to win the majors. Hopefully he will win one and he will continue to play well.

I could see him getting a win at the U.S. Open.

I think the PGA is better suited for Stricker. I'm not quite sure he can deal with the pressure of the Masters or the US Open quite yet, maybe after he gets 1 other major under his belt. He is definetely due a major.

I think a lot will depend on how he (and other US players) react to the World Matchplay. He went out early, only one American made the 1/4-final. Will they come back fighting or do the Europeans and Far East players have the Big Mo right now?
(Not to overlook the S Africans and Ozzies)

I'm rooting for him for sure and voted "Yes", but at medium confidence. I wouldn't throw too many greenbacks on it.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
