Dear friends,

here i post a video of my swing. The quality is not very good, but i hope you can give me some advice about why i am sending the ball to the left 90% of the shots. Maybe my backswing is too much to the inside. I`ve been working on hips rotation, i find it so difficult to achieve...

Thanks a lot in advance.

First of all, put more work into planning recording your swing. Set the camera as close to you as possible, so that you fill the screen, including the club at the top of the backswing. Use a chair, your bag or something to set it up. do some test recordings and adjust to find when it is good. You should also record from face on view. Looks like you can move those mats to the left and have room for the camera inside those separators to the right.

The blue line over/on your head shows that you stand up in the backswing. To me it looks like you are in a too athletic position. You have a lot of knee flex, causing unstability and forcing you to stand up during the swing.. When you stand up, the weight falls back to the heels.

Your shoulders rotate very flat flat, pushing the arms out in front of the body.

Hard to see the clubhead, but it looks like you are rotating the club on the takeaway and to the inside. From there you stand up and get the club on a much steeper plane, moving away from the ball, so you have to go steep to prevent coming over the top. Because you come in that steep, you probably swing quite a lot in-to-out.

On the last picture I've set a ring around your arms. Like I mentioned, it's hard to see details, but it looks like you are flipping the club a bit before impact.

What to do?

1) Try recording better video clips.

2) If you haven't been fit for the clubs, you could check if you might need more length to them, perhaps checking the lie. If you get closer to the ball and stand taller, the toe of the club will drop closer to the ground.

3) I would like to see you closer to the ball, you can see the gap between your hands and body at the first picture, get the hands closer. You should also stand taller at address, less flex in the knees. This will help keeping you balanced, keeping the weight centered and preventing you from lifting up during the swing.

4) Try pushing the left shoulder down instead of rotating it too flat, this will help getting the hands more to the inside. Deep Hands Explained

5) Let the hands go to the inside, but keep the club on plane, not rotating it to the inside, like you see on the second picture on your sequence.
Look at this photo sequence , noticing the angle of the club at parallell to the ground on the takeaway. The clubface is pointing down on the ground, his shoulder has dropped left, pushing the hands to the inside. Clubface Square to the Plane

6) Looks like the hips doesn't rotate enough on the downswing. When watching the movie, it looks like you get to impact, and only after impact you fully rotate the hips, faking the follow through. A face on view video would help analysing the hips movement. Slide Your Hips .

Wow,

i admit that even with such a bad recording you made a lot of points, and i really appreciate that. I knew my knee flex was wrong!! I don´t think it will take me a lot of effort to go back to my former position, which was more natural. I believe i don´t need special clubs since i am only 1,78m, i hope by bending less my kness will get a better position.

"Hard to see the clubhead, but it looks like you are rotating the club on the takeaway and to the inside." You are right, i just don´t know how to fix this.

"Looks like the hips doesn't rotate enough on the downswing". Horrible news, i thought i had improved a bit on this.

This year i had 2 goals: Hips rotarion and lag. Now i think i must reconsider my planning. So many things to improve on...

I really appreciate all your help, thank you very much for the analysis and the tips.

I will post a better video next weekend (my lovely job gives me no time from monday to friday).

Again thank you Zeph

Hi again. Here i post a new video of my swing. I think you wil be able to see it better. I have tried not to bend the knees that much. I find my back not to be straight at stance, something i didn´t expect.
I hit 150 balls today, 95% of them to the left. For the first time in months the idea of "i try but i can´t" came through my mind. I also include a photo of my grip.

Thanks a lot
