My SW is 54 degrees.
My LW is 60 degrees.

Was wondering if I should bend the LW to 58 or maybe 56 degrees?

I don't have much against the 60* but I think it gets the ball too high and doesn't go far enough, a 56-58 seems better

I've had a 60* since i was 12...honestly...if you can hit it consistently, doesn't matter your handi...keep it in the bag. If it's difference with yardages or something that is in need of filling, then change it, but personally if you are fine with it, why change it?

Well it depends on a couple things really. First, do you hit the 60* consistent. Second, do you have a 52* or 50* wedge, or is the next closest a pitching wedge? A lot of times people will bend their wedges to get a consistent gap. I.E. 47 pitch, 53*, and 59*.

i have a 54 and 58 i find that you can actually hit a proper shot with the 58 but with a 60 it just goes to high and nowhere 58 more control go for it mate

It really depends how many wedges you carry and what the loft of your PW is. Assuming you have PW-SW-LW, and they PW is 47 or 48 degrees, that setup works well for me. 47-54-60. I like the 60 because i hit a lot of lofted shots, and i almost never use the 54 except to fit a full swing yardage gap. If you really don't want the 60 and you want it at 58, i would bend the 54 to about a 52 or 53 to keep the loft gaps consistent.

I think it's important to note that it's not always about the number on the club it's more about the distances you hit them. Ideally you want consistent yardage gaps between your wedges, or at least a good knowledge of how far you hit them. Having a consistent gap between the number on the top of the club doesn't mean the distance gaps are even.

I have a Mizuno PW which is 47, then a Vokey 50 and then 54. Although the gaps are 3˚ and 4˚ the yardage gap is the same at about 10 metres. Knowing this makes club selection much easier.

Bending clubs will also affect the bounce which will affect the way it plays and could throw the distances out as well.

Bending a wedge that many degrees, in either direction, is going to severly effect the bounce of the club. I've heard, "no more than 1*". I've also heard,"don't do it at all." Go ahead and get your hands on a 58* and 56* wedge and play with those. Maybe a friend would have them? Or a demo-day. Or, if you are close to the head pro at your club, maybe he can get some loaners from his sales rep.

People bend clubs if the want an equal distance gap between clubs. Say you need a 53* wedge to get the perfect distance/degree gap between your wedge. They don't sell 53* wedged but they do sell 52* and 54*, so buy one of those and bend it to the appropriate loft.

I'm just learning golf and suck pretty bad but I have a 60* that I handle really well around the greens.

I bought a 60* and I find it goes too high.

I don't want to splash out 80 euro (90 dollars) on a new wedge. Bending it seems like the cheaper option though it'll affect the bounce
