I had a round with 26 putts for 18 holes. I have watch the pros with only 23 putts for 18 holes. What is your lowest amount of putts for 18 holes and what did you shoot?

24 is my best. And of course, i also shot my best ever score that day -2 69. Most of my 1 putts that day were par saves. That round could have easily been a 74 or 75.

I've had a few low 9s, but can't recall an overall low 18.

Low 9 on a 9 hole course: 9 (35 - zero greens in regulation and 9 up and downs - in ~1995) Low 9 on an 18 hole course following a disastrous front side: 10 including a 3-putt (37 - after > 20 putts on the front nine, including a 4-putt for a 41).

24 is my best (13 and 11). Can't remember exactly what I shot but it was probably mid-high 70s. I do remember a lot of up and downs that day.

Not my lowest, but in 2001 I birdied 6 strait holes playing in a Pro- Member at Urbana CC in Ohio. PB Dye was in my group. Ended up with 28 putts and shot 68 with an ob double. What was cool is that PB said "my father and I expect you to be a great putter of the ball" and that day I drained two over 30+footers...it also helped that I chipped in once and had a couple tap ins...

My lowest was 22 and my score was 83. I only hit a couple of greens and maybe 4 fairways IIRC. Putting is the only thing I do consistently well. Last season I averaged 27 for 18 holes but rarely scored below 85. I haven't started tracking my putting stats yet this year. I did play 36 holes Tuesday with no 3 putts so I should be in good shape still. I'm driving the ball very well and my short game is looking pretty good but I'm having to put way too much pressure on it because my approaches really suck. As good as I putt, if I could hit more greens I could get in the high 70s easy. That's what I'm working on the hardest right now. I hit my irons solid but have a lot of trouble with accuracy, mostly alignment. I also struggle with course management (poor club selection,etc.). Anyway, my putter has saved my bacon more times than I care to remember. Maybe this year I can get the rest of my game together and get that handicap down in the single digits. One can always hope!

Don't know for 18, but I had 13 for 9 once at a tough course and was pretty happy.

Naturally nothing else was working that day so I still shot 42. But that was about 3 years ago and I was happy nonetheless. It feels better to have a good day on the greens than anywhere else I think. Because a good putter stroke ends with the sound of the ball dropping in the cup.

I had a round with a 70+ year old man last week, and I would bet he only took 20-22 putts for the round. He couldn't hit the ball over 150 yards, but he was so accurate when pitching into the greens, I don't think he was ever further than 12ft away from the cup. He shot 6 over par for the round. Absolutely the craziest round of golf I've seen, but I learned a few things from him.

I've had 21 putts twice in my life (69, -3 and 72, par). I only hit 5 GIRs in both rounds.

25 putts, probably shot in the low nineties (threw all my cards out from last year as I am in the middle of moving). If I could get the ball off the tee I could play a decent round, putting is definitely my strong point, if I have more than 30 putts it has been a bad day of golf more than likely.
